Default True Blood & raw food

Anyone here watch the HBO show True Blood? One of the characters eats raw food! She said something like "it makes your mind and body pure, etc..." Awesome! Too bad the character is a psychopath, but I still got a kick out of it! Anyone else?

I love that show!

I haven't heard her mention raw food though, I'm assuming mean Suki's brother's girlfriend. I haven't seen the latest episode, will be watching it tonight. Yay, another True Blood Fan. Don't you just love the intro?

Yes, it was last night's episode and it was Amy (Sookie's brothers girlfriend). I love the intro too! I love to watch thoughtful sci-fi/fantasy-type shows that comment on society.

In some way that appeals to my sardonic sense of humor, sort of like a Coen Brothers movie. She's raw? Of course she's a psychopath, lol. I'm kidding with regard to the comments we receive - you know we must all be nuts to eat this way.

I know, they had to make one of the psycho characters raw. Why couldn't they have made the sweet main character raw? The raw girl is a stereotypical hippie chick, but she has a dark addiction that compels her to do very bad things.

Thinking twice about it -- people may remember raw foods more with the deviant character. In years to come they may forget the sweet girl, but they'll probably remember the hippie chick with a dark side who ate raw foods. Hmmm maybe the producers are very aware of what they're doing - somebody on the crew might be raw.

Haha, I haven't seen the 2 hour True Blood special yet, so no spoilers!

But yes, it's funny that the raw fooder is the loony, but look at the history of acceptance of vegetarians, it's going along the same lines.

What's that saying? First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

It's a matter of getting the raw food idea out to a whole bunch of people who would never have heard of it otherwise, so even if their first intro to raw food is a psycho in a vampire series, it's now lodged in their mind, even if it's subconsciously.

My first intro to veganism was from people telling me they'd known weirdo vegans (and all they drank was coke!). Now look at me!
