I'm not really a violent person, but I'm fasting and irritable and when I read that I felt like punching someone.

That article is the reason I signed up today.

Can someone go into some depth about this irradiation thing...

Why it's bad for us, how can we tell the difference between irradiated and non-irradiated stuff, can we the the non-radiated stuff still or do we have to grown it in our basement all year round.

And on a similar note, how much of our other fruits and vegetables do they already irradiate? I just found out about the pasturization of raw almonds, and the packaging isn't even labeled accordingly.

(I'm sure there's a conspiracy theory brewing about this too!)

Mike...

Of course not. Who would buy produce labeled as "irradiated"?! Plus, it's pretty hard to get a sticky label on a bundle of spinach.

Spend the extra money and get at least your spinach and lettuce organically grown. According to the Organic Standards, organically grown is not allowed to be irradiated.

I wonder why they don't have public discussion before implementing new policies like this one ?

that gave me a good laugh = public discussion

these punks in power only acted like they had respect for
people and that we debated about and voted on how the nation ran
in order to fool work / power out of people . but in reality they
respect no one they dont fear , and dictate to us what we
shall be and how we shall live .

its way past time to stop respecting the u.s. ruling class
and to begin seeking to take back all the power they stole
out of moraled people .

Tips? What can be done? Mailing letters doesn't seem to get anyone anywhere.

I was so ticked off when i saw this on the news yesterday. Unfortunately, i can't post my response in here, since i will probably break some forum rules for cussing.

I seriously have to find some local farmers that don't spray their crops so I can have my lettuce and spinach and eat them too. I am so damn tired of the stupid Federal Destruction of America (FDA) ruining our food! I really believe they will destroy all of it before too long so nothing is fit to eat anymore. So then what do we all do then?
And how do we know our organic produce will be safe?
