My Awesome Goddess Chips!
These chips are very hard to resist and you can't eat just one! You may need to double the recipe because they won't last very long. I sometimes eat a large bowl full as a meal and am completely satisfied.
This works best with Lacinato or Dinosaur Kale.
Chrissy's Goddess Chips
2 bunches kale, broken into large pieces by hand
Dressing:
3/4 c sesame tahini
1/2 c apple cider vinegar
1/2 c water ~ more if needed
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/4 cup nama shoyu
2 scallions
1 clove garlic
1 lemon, juiced
1/4 t. sea salt
Place kale in a large mixing bowl. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth to get a thick consistency. You may have to add more water. Pour over kale and mix thoroughly with your hands to coat the kale. You want this mixture to be really glued onto the kale.
Place kale onto a Teflex sheet, on top of a mesh dehydrator screen, and dehydrate for 4 hours @ 110 degrees. You'll need to use two trays. Rotate kale occasionally to dry uniformly.
The first time I made these I stood over the dehydrator and ate the chips right from the Teflex sheet. Enjoy!
In Joy,

Can you use something else in lieu of the tahini? ~ Cathy

Chrissy - Are these the chips you made at Alissa's? If so, I can't wait to go and get some Kale!

Oh, I'm totally getting kale when I go to the market. We could use some of those around here.

Awesome Goddess Chips!
Yes Sunshine, these are the same chips I made for you guys last month. They are one of the recipes in my book. I am addicted to them.
Hi Cathy: You can substitute mac butter or cashew butter if you like. Almond butter may work also. Play with it and have fun.
Even if you don't like tahini, you can't taste it at all. The other ingredients blend well with it and make it taste cheesy once dehydrated. Enjoy!

Hi Sunshine,
I'm in the process of writing still so I will let you know when it is complete and available for sale. It's going to be great! Did you make the chips yet? Let me know how they turn out. Big hugs!!

This looks just like the dressing Alissa makes at her certification classes. I love to make kale chips too but I have to admit they are pretty boring compared to this, I just use oil and sea salt to coat them. I loved her dressing, I definately have to try this recipe! I bet these are delicious!

Chrissy - Well let me know when it's out. I'm a book-a-holic. Ask my dh! I didn't make the chips yet and I just went shopping yesterday and forgot to get the Kale! I'll be going again on Wednesday, so I'll get it then and make it! Thanks for the recipe! I'm making those tomatoes again tomorrow for a friend that I invited over for dinner. Me and dh love 'em! The kids think they are too strong. That's okay though, more for me and dh!
Hope you are doing GREAT!
