My fasting journal
I hope that I'm putting this in the right place. If not, please mods/admin, feel free to move it.
Today I'm on day 5 of my juice fast. I am noticing a major trend. I am attacked by cravings in the evenings between 8-9pm. I also notice that I get a major craving for salt
Today was the strangest day for me. I woke up extremely weak, which is very unusual for me. I usually feel uber energetic when on a fast. I had to drink some bottled grape juice just to keep from feeling faint. If someone has a recommendation for overcoming this feeling, I'm open to suggestions.

Hi!
Firstly, all the symptoms you are experiecing are common in fasting.
Next for clarification, when you say that you [usually] feel energetic on a fast, are you reintroducing yourself back into raw? or what was your diet like prior to this fast? when was the last time you fsated?
:)

I was a vegetarian for a while. I have not done raw yet, but considering it.
I have done several fasts, but it's been a while, as I was pregnant, then I nursed my son for almost a year.

I would really suggest eating raw and build your body up if you were not able to sustain the fasting symptoms. Myself, I attempted over a year ago and it was way to much for my already weak body/liver. A year later, I completed a 40 day fast.
I know alot of people do a fast for a kickstart but sometimes it's best to build thebody up so it can then be able to sustain concetrated forms of detoxying. I have been coming across this suggestion more and more in fasting sites.

Do you think it's a good idea to to 2-3 day fast once or twice amonth since it takes awhile for the body to repair itself? or is that only for those who have already gone through alot of detoxing and their bodies are all cleaned out? :)

Thank you all for your responses.
Path, my mother just recommended the same thing. I fasted for 5 days. I had some miso soup. I was feeling rather faint.
I think that I will ease into a long term fast. For now, I'll look into eating raw, see how that works for me. Apparently, I have a lot of built up toxins that are resisting.

Everyone has different views on this..........personally, I feel if the body needs to sustain from food for wheatever reason, than yes. i am big believer in intuitive "health."
In terms of (((fasting))) for the sake of this conversation, I personally say if it is signaled by the body to fast than YES.
Path, the body is always repairing itself everynite or did i miss the intent of your statement?
:)

Misslinda, I completely understand and agree with what you are saying. The body DOES signal what to do. While my ultimate goal is to do a 21 day fast, I definitely need to ease into it. I don't know much about eating raw, reading through this site now, but I think that I might need to go raw and then try another fast.
Unfortunately, fasting is not as easy for me as it used to be

Ah I think I was talking about those who still have a lot of sad eating Junk inside them and are trying to get it all out. First by going raw and getting used to their body functions and it's changes and do a couple of short fast during that process, so they want get to sick from the detoxing. And be able to work up to doing the longer fast.
Where as those who have gone a little longer as a raw person and have gone through alot of detoxing, are usaully more aware of their body's needs. :)

That's exactly what I thought you meant. It's also why I'm not trying to learn as much as I can about becoming raw. I'm scouring the web for all the info I can get. :)
