Firstly Welcome Mommyinthecountry and thank you for your recipe post. We would LOVE to see pictures the next time you make these up. I cant wait to try them.

Well yesterday I was bleassed with a HUGE box of apples newly felled from a tree from the wind storm. I gladly took all of them even though many will need a lot of work.
So this morning I made an apple breakfast inspired by Radiantly Raws cinnamon apples post yeasterday. Keeping with the change in season apple breakfasts!
Chunky Spiced Apples
1 apple cut up
1/2 raw bar cut up, I used apple Lara Bar
cinnamon or mixed spice
liquid sweentner, I used 50/50 honey & agave
water, like a 1/2 t.
1t. flax seeds (optional)
Mix spice, sweetner & water in small bowl. Place apples and reaw bar in bowl. Pour sauce over - not too much, you will have leftover sauce. Serve.
This could also be done the night before and tossed into the dehydtrator.

EPPP - Yum! Yeah, that cinnamon apple concoction is full of possibilities! ;) That looks scrumptious, and I recognized the Lara Bar right away. LOL!
I just might email you for some of those vice cream recipes, I forgot that I saw you mention that before.

My KIDS ATE RAW TODAY!!!
For Breakfast we had: 3 Bananas
Snack: Alissa's Banana Flax Crackers with Honey!
1 Orange each
Lunch: RAWvolution's Greek Pizza on Onion Bread and RAW Lasagna with
a Great Salad!!!
Snack: Carob/Banana Icecream (kids) Strawberry Icecream (me)

SPINACH-STUFFED MEATLOAF
*
2 cup walnuts, soaked for 4-6 hours
1 cup almonds, soaked for 4-6 hours
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, soaked until soft, reserved 1 cup water
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
2 cups fresh spinach, washed and stemmed
2 tablespoons olive oil
Juice of one half lemon
2 teaspoon sea salt, divided
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup SUN-DRIED TOMATO KETCHUP (recipe follows)
1 Place spinach, olive oil, lemon juice and 1 teaspoon sea salt Ziploc bag and marinate for 1 hour.
2 In a food processor, combine walnuts, almonds, sun-dried tomatoes, 1/2 cup reserved tomato water, parsley, onion, garlic and celery. Add the remaining 1/2 cup water one tablespoon at a time to moisten the meat loaf. Be careful not to over moisten.
3 Place meatloaf mixture in a large bowl. Add poultry seasoning, pepper and 1 teaspoon sea salt. Mix well.
4 Spread meatloaf mixture on a Teflex sheet into a shape into a rectangle 3x9-inches . Place spinach mixture on top. Roll up the rectangle carefully, beginning at the short side and using the sheet to lift.
5 Transfer loaf to a second Teflex sheet. You should have enough meat to create three mini loaves.
6 Cover with sun-dried tomato ketchup. Place in dehydrator at 115 degrees for an hour.
7 Make 1 inch slices of meat and arrange on the Teflex.
8 Dehydrate at 115 degrees for an hour. Turn over slices, spread sun-dried tomato ketchup and dehydrate an additional hour.
SUN-DRIED TOMATO KETCHUP
1 cup sun-dried tomato, soaked, 1/4 c reserved water
1/4 cup raisins, soaked
1 T Italian Seasonings
1/4 tablespoon chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
Combine ingredients in a blender until mixture is slightly smooth, yet chunky.
I have to say that I cheated a little bit with that recipe. We made tons of ketchup and spagetti sauce from our garden tomatoes this year and canned them, so I'm slowly trying to use them up (that's before I decided to try eating all raw)...So I used the ketchup and sauce (in place of sun dried tomatoes) This was really good. The one thing I LOVVVE about raw food it the flavor. My daughter said this dish is "licious" (delicious)

Great thread! Love the pictures and descriptions.
My daughter (4.5) isn't all raw, but she eats an awful lot of raw & unadorned food.
I have found that providing food without making a big deal out if it seems to be the best approach with her. Also, I will put out school lunch trays with a wide assortment to pick from as she likes.
For example, a tray might have fresh cut up pears, cucumber salad, homemade trail mix, chips, sticks and dip, a big pile of fresh greens (she likes them plain - even kale) and maybe something she has requested like a not dog, raw cheese or Tings. By providing what she asks for she never feels denied and happily eats whatever else is on the tray.
I found that when I went all raw, she picked up on it, that I was doing something "different" and that the food was somehow different and less desirable. As soon as I stopped calling things raw and just referred to them as food, or the name or whatever, she came right around like there was nothing weird about it.
I have to say, I was forced by threat of starvation to eat certain foods as a child for my "wellbeing" so I am not very keen on that approach myself. And I have quite a few friends who were raised in vegetarian households that were extremely strict as well - so much so that at every opportunity they would be shoving hot dogs (real ones) down their throats and Mcdonalds and candy bars.... autonomy with guidance and explanations and exploration is a pretty good thing for kids IMHO!

my kids will try anything that they get to help me make. But that doesn't always guarentee that they will finish eating it.

My son isn't raw, he's a cooked veggie, but I try and get as much raw into him as I can.
My saving grace with him is that I've gotten him to drink green smoothies. He's a very fussy kid (6 years old) and always has been and so I developed a kid friendly green smoothie that he likes:
two large handfuls of greens (not ones that are too hot/spicy) such as kale, nettle, spinach, dark green lettuces or baby herb leaves etc.
enough water to blend the greens
half to one avocado
2 bananas
the juice of two oranges
He drinks this with no complaint.
And recently I've had another victory, he's started eating greens straight! Just munching on the leaves! That's huge for him!
He loves all the raw desserts I make, but isn't too keen on the savoury ones. But at least he eats 'salad plates' as he calls them, a fresh chopped variety of veggies. And he loves fruit.
EPPP, Dewdrop, thankyou for the lovely lunchbox photos, they are so inspirational. they remind me of raw versions of vegan lunchbox (www.veganlunchbox.com).

I had some soaked cashews I didn't know what to do with, so my daughter suggested that I make some "Cheeze" and I found a really simple recipe in the Cafe Gratitude book - farmer's cheese!
It was a super simple recipe, 1 1/2 cups soaked cashews, 1 T miso, 1 t coconut oil, and enough water to blend (I used a little less than 1/2 cup), then salt to taste.
My daughter ate a bowl of it like pudding :)
Hubby & I ate it on crackerbread with marinated broccoli & hijiki on top.
I think this recipe will be a staple in our house - it has such a simple flavor it could go with just about anything - and it is kid approved!
