I want to thank everyone who has participated in this RawFoodTalk.com forum. There have been some amazing exchanges here and so many words of wisdom spoken. But its time for me to close this board. I am moving on to new ventures and feel that its time for me to let this go. A forum of this size takes loads of money, time and energy. I have not been keeping up with the forum upgrades, the spam problems, etc…. which is resulting in many disgruntled emails and people calling the office daily. I’m sorry to disappoint the many of you who have spent your time and wonderful words of help and inspiration here. I hope that you have all benefited from this board and that it has helped you on your path to optimal health. I know many of you have made lasting friendships here as well. I will leave this board up for a month of so, so that you may copy what you need and any information you would like to save.
Thank you for being part of the RawFoodTalk.com community! It’s been a wonderful ride! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for all of you and of course, you can keep up with my adventures through my blog, Facebook and twitter. I am continuing my certification trainings and there will be some exciting new classes, events and projects coming into fruition in the near future!
Same here. My kids won't eat anything raw that is prepared as a dish, I do good enough to get them to snack on just raw fruits throughout the day. And we've been a vegan family their entire lives!
They will even tell my Mom when she comes home (Nana lives with us) that they are hungry and all they had all day was FRUIT and it's the way they say it to her they make it sound like I starved them! We tried a whole 2 weeks of nothing but fruit/veggies all day until dinner and they did! She came home from work and they hounded her with "NANA! We're HUNGRY!!! All we've had all day is FRUIT!!!!" with sad puppy faces included!
So yeah, when I try the raw on them,my kids think I'm mean/cruel and starving them.
And yes. When we did that 2 week trial, they had PLENTY to eat, they ate on it all day, and STILL told her they were hungry/starving and all they had was OMG fruits and veggies OMG.
You MUST write a book.... With all of these kid friendly recipes & ideas and your cute kids faces...you would sell a million!
I just LOVE reading your stuff and really look forward to seeing pics of your kids LOVING raw food....GREAT JOB MOM!!!
Ahhhh, thanks so much! I am actually but it takes awhile; perhaps by the time they are at Uni it will be done. It could read something like Raw Food Through The Ages (because it took so damn long to write) . . .For Kids!
This was my son when we first made it helping with the marinated veg, please go and have a look ! The zucchini in the photo is too thin, I slice it much thicker now.

What kid does not like donuts! I love being able to sometimes present items to my daughter (7) that mimic SAD foods well and this does the trick.
Some of you may be up in arms and think why would I want to mimic SAD. Well one good example is that she is going to a BDay party tomorrow and I will be sending her with one of these made into a piece of "cake" shape so that she can particapate in the celebrations without feeling singled out.
The recipe is ani phyo's donut holes w/o the coconut.
Chocolate "Sauce / Ganache"
cocoa butter
coconut butter (you can use all coconut butter too)
cocoa powder
agave
maple (just a touch to round out the flavour)
salt
I only make a small qty at a time and use equal parts of the butters then add the rest to taste so like 1-2T ea. of butters, 1t. cocoa, 1t. agave 1/2t. maple, pinch of salt
melted over hot water. not on stove just from the boiled kettle. I use a heavy 2c. glass measuring cup in a 4c. measuring cup (see 2nd pic in post #35). Cover fruit and pop in freezer to harden.
Donut "Batter" (also used for cupcakes in post #48 of this Thread)
1 3/4c. almonds, ground to flour
1/2t. salt
1 vanilla bean, scraped
2c. dried unsweetned pineapple, chopped small
2c. dates, pitted
1/4c. dried unsweetened coconut (to roll in)
Put all but coconut in food processor. Process to mixed. Do not over process or will get oily. Form in to desired shape. There are great both undehydrated and dehydrated. If not dehydrating keep in fridge.
Her recipe calls for this to be much more chunky but we prefer a fine crumb.
Enjoy!

My kids did not like it but not because it was bad. I sometimes forget they dont like dairylike creamy things. I think this is because they were raised from the beginning without milk in their diet.
I really like your idea of sending your daughter off with the raw donuts... Obviously raw food is as beneficial to the body as it gets, but that can really wreak havoc on a kid to feel singled out.
