Unhappy I was using a universal machine with a leg press.

I started using the leg press and set it for way over 25 pounds on my legs and developed severe problems with the veins in my legs, now I have the feeling of crawling in my legs and I get jittery and feel as though I'm going to be sick. Someone told me that I stripped my viens. Can anyone help me to repair the damage? I read that witch hazel will help and horse chestnut can I make a linament to rub on my legs? Right now they are tingling and it's kind of scary.
Has anyone experienced this from putting too much pressure on their legs?

Whoever told you that may be inaccurate. Stripped your veins??? on 25#? I doubt it. How long have you been training?

It's more likely that you've got an imbalance on the sacro-illiac joint which is putting pressurepm the sciatic nerve which is causing that problem.

Try this ~ do a forward bend. Can you? Do you feel better sitting or standing? When it happened, did you twist or use one leg more than the other? 25#+ for legs is not usually much weight unless one's positioning is wrong.

Hard to really help you w/out seeing/feeling what's going on yet, do two epsom salt baths a day, about 10 minutes each. Then find yourself a bodywork therapist (NOT a masseuse!) who specializes in sacral disfunction.

    Where are you located?

Default I can do it, Revvell,

    :) Hi Revvell,
I can bend ok. Someone at my church said that I may have stripped my viens.
Last night I read that white oak bark may help with leg circulation and I drank 1 and 1/2 cups and the pain went away. And they recommened that I rub with witch hazel, today my legs do feel better. Thanks for the information and I will look into gettting the help you suggested.
    I live in Hammond, Indiana.

    Thanks so much.

    Default Plastic surgery?

Stripping of veins from what I just read seems to be surgery where they cut the vein out to reduce varicose veins. Now that would have been a serious weight routine... OMG is that my vein lying over there beside the machine?!?!? OMG!

When I sit badly at my desk with my weight forward and on my feel they get uncomfortable and jittery for the next day from the misuse.... maybe it's just something like that??

    Glad you're feeling better!
