spring equinox fast
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to do a 3-week juice fast starting on the the spring equinox, which falls this year on March 20.
It will be a good way to start the spring, with a spring cleaning. And a good way to welcome the return of warmer weather. All hail the sun!
Like a lover awaiting her beloved, I want to be ready for all the wonderful fall and summer fruit. ;)
I also want to take my eating to a new level.
I'm currently doing my 30-day challenge. I was at 100% for much of last year but fell off around Thanksgiving and am only now back at being raw. It feels good!
So, I'm just putting this out there for anyone who wants to maybe join me, and I'll bump this as the date -- march 20 -- draws near.

I do this every year. Since the spring Equinox usually coincides with Lent, I do a combo Lent-spring fast. I'm Daniel fasting from 3/1-3/23 then I'm plannig a 2 day liver flush, then an 10 day Master cleanse, another liver flush, and a 7 day kidney flush to finish things off. It is my intention to emerge raw after all the flushing.
I know it sounds ambitious. I've done it before. My body feels rebooted after all that fasting and it undoes all the horrible things I've done the year leading up to the fast. One of my resolutions is to give up the bad stuff permanently this year.
Men may take up the first position. BUT they work in service to the female

I'm going to my parent's house for spring break on Monday (3/12). Usually I have a hard time staying raw there bc they still love to make all my favorite childhood foods, but this time, knowing that I am starting the juice fast on the 20th will definitely keep me raw. Bc I do not want to jump into 3 weeks of juicing with bbq chicken still in my system.
Today was a lovely warm day here in the Northeast. I even had spring fever, y'know, that light jumpy happy feeling, walked with a little bounce even. I'm looking forward to having more of that type of feeling on the fast (minus detox of course).

Heya swing bolder!
I'm looking at doing a juice fast around the equinox as well. I'm a beginner, so I'm considering about 7 days... still looking inward and seeing what i'm feeling guided to do and if i'm ready, but i think I am!! It would be exciting to do it with somebody else :). Currently i'm eating 99% raw, and for a month or so i've been juice fasting one day a week to gently clean myself out and get ready for a longer period. I'll let you know for sure in a few days, but i think you can count me in!!

So far, I've had a few failed attempts at doing a long-term fast, but perhaps being accountable to the group will keep me focused.

Very cool! How long is everyone going for, a few days, a week, etc?
I'm going to do 3 weeks. I'm debating over whether to make week 2 the master cleanse, but I 'm just going to play it by ear and see how I feel.

Swingbolder I am psyched to do this. I was thinking of doing the Master cleanse for a week also. I am in need of detox badly! i can't wait to start & spring is such a fresh, new time. Thanks for the great idea! Keep in touch.

Where can I get a Juice Fast plan?
I am new here.
I have been all organic since December 05 and slowly trying to get 100% raw.
I do great on the weekday when I am at work but weekends can get little tricky at home.
Anyway I would love to do a juice fast, but how would that work when I am at work, don't I have to drink the fresh juice right away?
Any thought and help would be appreciated.

When I was working 9-5 and doing a juice fast, the plan I was doing was fruit juice in the morning, a veggie juice for lunch and another veggie juice for dinner. The veggie juices were for rebuilding/stabilizing while the fruit juice was for cleansing. It was mixed up like that bc for many people, if you only do the fruit, you cleanse very quickly and can have detox symptoms, which isn't always convenient if you have to be active, go to work, etc.
Now, it's best to drink juice fresh, but fruit juice keeps longer than vegetable juice, so on days when I had to go to the office, I would drink vegetable juice in the morning, at the same time preparing my fruit juice which I would put in a thermos and have midday. Then when I got home I would make my vegetable juice dinner.
As for what plan you should do, I don't really feel comfortable doing that since all our bodies are different and at different stages of raw, cleansing etc.However, I will look for some sites that might have some good information, and will post them later.
