juices in plastic bottles in the freezer
I was recently doing a juice fast and found it to be very tedious to clean the juicer after every drink. However they say that that is when the juice is the best because after that it begins to lose its nutrients the longer it sits. So I was wondering if I juiced like 10 apples 20 oranges and whatever other juices I could think of and put all the juice from all the fruits or even veggies to if possible into 20 oz old washed out arrowhead( or whatever brand) water bottles, put it in the freezer and on Monday morning take the juice out and let it defrost over a couple of hours then drink it. Would most of the nutrients still be there or while defrosting would they dissapear just the same as juicing and then putting them in the fridge? Has anyone ever tried this, or has any suggestions/comments to this?
If you have to keep your juice then it would probably help if you could remove all the air from the container to reduce oxidation but then it would burst the bottle when it expands in the freezer.
If I was in your position I would think that it was the lesser of 2 evils to only wash the juicer once a day regardless of how often I used it. What do others think of this.
There is sufficient in the world for man's need, but not for his greed.
When Smasty was regularly posting here, she mentioned how she would do that...fill up small juice bottles with juice the night before and take them to work and drink as they thawed out. She said it worked great and that she still received the wonderful benefits of juice fasting.
If I plan on making juice more than once a day, I just wash the juicer before going to bed. This is how the woman who sold it to me more than 20 years ago said to do it and that is what I have almost always done. At that time we had two small children and we went through 25 lb of carrots, 4 pkg of celery, 4 pkg of spinach, and 7 cucumbers a week juicing. And sometimes we got a box of apples too. We couldn't have done it by washing each time. Just think about it, in restaurants they don't wash it after each use.
If you are using carrots it helps to peel and cut them all at one time. Then keep them in smaller bags. We also washed and cut the end off the celery at that time too. Just made it faster to already have that done.
What kind of juicer do you have?
Thanks for your responses
I'm going to make some juice today and try freezing it and drinking it tommorrow.
Has anyone tried fruit and veggies juices, frozen and then thawed that were good? Also what is the longest I can keep the juices in my freezer?
And in response to your question Doe I have a Jack Lalaine Juicer. When I make ice cream I just eat it right out of the juicer by scooping spoonfuls out from under the lid and also the bottom, sorta off topic here but I love banana ice ream, I could eat it everyday.
you made chocolate that way too
You meant bananas and carob mixed and frozen to make chocolate ice cream. That's what you meant, right?
It ejects the pulp.
Although it did stop the other day while I was making ice cream. But I think I was using the baby bananas so I had to turn it off and then start it again and it works fine now.
I made them
well I just filled 3 bottles and put them in the freezer.
I put carrots, celery, sweet green beans, cucumbers, lemongrass, parsly, lemongrass, and a little ginger plus:
One has apple juice in it it's okay (16 oz)
the next has orange juice (15 oz)
and the third one has oj in it that one is only like 12 oz.
So I'll let you know how it goes....
I have been freezing my drinks to take to work for quite some time. I fill almost too the top, use a dark container, and add lemon to reduce oxida., works on an apple right. Also we freeze bananas fruit to make ice cream, no probs there right ?
If you are concerned about enzymes go ahead and take an enzyme with the drink or eat a few veggies with your drink. A few cucmber slices, some celery a carrot.
If you think about the freezing (immediately) it cannot be that denutering, after all sperm is frozen, stored, and brought to life at a later date. If sperm survives they why would an enzyme not ? My reasoning here !
Psalms 18:2 "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

current bodyfat is
18-19% in the AM
15-16% in the PM,
goal is to see this go down 3% (as they are not as accurate as they are consistant ! )
I had the 12 oz one
I took it out of the freezer at 6:30am and forgot it in my car.
At 2:30pm I went out to get it(my car was parked in indoor parking) And by that time it was all defrosted and it tasted allright.
I don't know about the nutrients but I do know that if you freeze or heat plastic, the toxins will break down and get into your food. Even if you store acidic foods such as tomatoes in a plastic container you will end up consuming those toxins. Glass is best!
So I definantly know all about the trouble juicing can be at first. My mother and grandmother get gatorade bottles and spend all day juicing for the month.
The juice is definantly still good. It cured my grandmother of ovarian cancer and she has been in remission for almost 7 years becuase of the juicing. So yes its a otay.
So I had the second bottle , at first it tasted funny but the second half of the bottle was alright, but I prefer fresh juice.
maybe because it's too many things
like not only orange or apple or carrot etc. ?
