Affirmation at the Gym
As you read this, keep in mind I'm about 100 pounds over weight. But I've always been one who enjoys exercise.
Thursday after my workout, this tall, strapping, in-shape looking man stopped to tell me how hard I was working out. He was on the machine next to me and he must have looked at how I had everything programmed. I was on a Cybex cardio machine and I had the resistance set to the maximum level of 100. He wanted to know how in the world I could do that. It wasn't a slam about my size, he was wishing he could do the same and was speaking in admiration! Then as I walked down the hall to leave, someone else, who had not heard that conversation stopped to tell me how hard I work. She asked me if I was trying to be Arnold Swarzenegger (sp?).
I think I walked a little taller all day! Just wanted to share that with you guys.

That is such an awesome thing to hear. That boosted your self esteem up big time I bet!
So, going to the gym has it's benefits more then just getting in a good workout! ;)
Good for you! Now, you may just motivate me to get myself in gear and exercise! :)

misslinda,
Ricky Martin was the 90's, if you want to put on 80's leotard and legwarmers (don't forget the headband) you'll have to listen to another Rick, Rick Springfield! :)
Oh, do I miss the 80's. (sigh)

Dancer,
Oh, glad that you knew what era Ricky Martin was in! I surely didn't! LOL
Hmmm, now you got me curious to what 80's music is like!
Yes, I'm old enough, but didn't listen to all that stuff growing up. :)

Oh goodnes.. My first vinyl album was the soundtrack to that first movie Madona did.. was it Who's that girl? I know that was one of her songs, I cannot remember if it was the movie title or not too. My first cassette tape was.. I hate to admit it, Michael Jackon's Thriller! Oh my how time has changed _that_!
But.. OT.. Kudos to your gym success! I'm working on the exercise piece of this journey. I do go to clogging class once a week and I need to get looking and feeling better for the recital in June. Yikes! I still cannot belive I agreed to doing a dance recital after all these years. It's been 14 years since I've done a dance class, let alone got onstage. Fun fun!
