Default New & Question About MC?

After much research I am going to start raw for health purposes and losing a lot of weight. I just ordered from Alissa's site today so I should get it by the weekend or at the beginning of the next.

Should I do a cleanse (MC) before I start raw? Will that give better results, especially as far as weight loss?

    Question

I'm wondering about the MC too. Did you guys do it exactly the way it was intended? Did anyone use enemas instead of the salt water? Is the maple syrup necessary? Has anyone does a series of short MCs?

Oh another question. How is the energy level with the MC compared to a water fast? Should I have trouble getting to school, work, etc? I did a short water fast (3days) and couldn't do much at all.

Transitioning into raw depends on each person........

some people feel "mentally" better doing a cleanse or fast b/c they feel cleaner and having a fresh start.

some have health issues that require a little more "concentrated" isloated form of detoxing.

depends on what each person can handle

myself, when I first found out about raw food diet over a year ago, I tried to do the MC (fixated on weightloss as #1 reason) Due to my intense sugar blood issues and "emotional/mental" state, I could not get past 8 hours. Then I started eating raw and couldn't even last past 2 weeks.

I struggled with raw off and on and continued health concerns that literally got to the point that solid foods were aggrivating me. To date, I am in my almost 30 days of fasting.

Keep in mind that transitioning out of fasting is SOOOOO important---the digestifve system is literally shut down.

Some people do the MC off and on. The molasses provides so nutrient and sweetness--it is also considered alkalizing and colon friendly as I have read. Grade B unsulphered blackstrap molasses is what I've used.

Water fast is a VERY intense way of cleansing. If you are sugar blood sensitive, this may be not a good idea. if you can handle it, should be not problem working but keep in mind that detox symptoms are part of the program so sure, you will have some ups and downs.

Weightloss results vary, some people gain the weight back and lose while eating raw and some people don't---eventually, we will have to start eating again anyway. More importantly, your body has had a chance to rid some of the road blockages so you can have a better working metabolism. What you eat and if you are working out are factors as well.

I'm on day 9 of a "modified" 10-day MC; I've been using raw agave instead of maple syrup, and mixing it up with lemons and limes. I've also had some wheatgrass juice and young coconut water.

I find that I can function way better than I ever could on a water fast. If you're not used to fasting, you may be happier not doing a cleanse before starting raw. I don't think a cleanse is necessary before going raw; I had plenty of detoxing with just raw foods and no fasting. You also may find any detox you get as a result of fasting easier to deal with if you detox more gently with raw foods first. But if you're a gung-ho sort of person, go for it. I think there are plenty of people who start on raw foods with a master cleanse or juice fast; some think it's easier to get over cravings that way.

Best of luck with raw whatever you decide!
