Thumbs up Yummy drinks to share with you

Here are some tried-and-true recipes that I LOVE:

    Carob Mint Milk
(A yummy, refreshing, sweet protein treat! You can also add ice or a frozen banana to make it a milkshake.)
This is from the LifeFood Recipe Book by Annie & David Jubb.

2 cups any nut milk (I use almond)
2 T raw carob powder, or more to taste
2 T raw honey, or maple syrup (not raw!) or 1 T liquid stevia herb
2 drops - that's all - no more - of peppermint essential oil. (Trust me, I accidentally put three drops in and I think it just about burned my throat going down!)

Slap it all into a blender or vitamix and blend away.

    Cherry Nut Milk Smoothie
(also from Annie & David Jubb)

VeggieGirl's note: I usually cut this recipe in half because it makes a LOT! This is a good meal any time of the day.

2 C frozen black cherries (OK to substitute blueberries)
1/2-1 C fruit (apple, pear, peach, or combo)
    4 C Nut milk (see, that's a LOT!)
    1 heaping tablespoon lecithin granules
3 T flax seed oil, or coconut oil
    2 T bee pollen
1 T spirulina flakes (or blue green algae powder)
1/4 t Vanilla extract (non-alcohol is always best)
1/4 C fresh ground flax meal (optional)
    2 T raw honey
    pinch of sea salt

Blend all ingredients well and love your body!

    Smile In awe

you sure come up with some recipe finds that make me froth at the mouth.....do we need to use a "food gradeable" essential peppermint oil or are we using plain pepermint essential oil?

    luv,
    linda

Rawjojo - you can get the book through www.discountnewagebooks.com (I think that is where I bought it - for almost HALF price!)

Misslinda - I just use essential oil of peppermint - in the USA it is illegal to say that essential oils are for internal use, but you can still take them internally if diluted. This is a really good shake - must try it!

    Veggie Girl,

I just got the book last week and I am getting ready to play with it. However, I am going to make the carob mint drink today. Thanks for sharing
