    Default sprouting oats

I bought some raw hulled oat groats at my local NFS. I soaked 6-8 hrs, put in sprout bag for 1.5 days , rinsed twice a day and no germ formed ? I put them in the dehydrator just now but I am wondering if they do not sprout like a buckwheat would ? and if they are supposed to have the visable germ and mine do not should I eat them ?

Twinee, here is a link for you that talks about sprouting oats - it's about sprouted oat milk, but it seems to answer your question.

You need to use UNhulled oats -- as mentioned in the article. There may be other outlets than Jaffe Bros. since the article is 10 yrs. old, but I do know that they are still the most reliable source of raw and vital grains, etc.
