I have also had Alissa's mock Salmon pate... it is so funny, because I had a friend and her family over about 3 months ago, and I made it as an appitizer. My friend ate it with SAD crackers, and loved every bite- yet she whined about how terrible this lifestyle sounded to her that I was doing. I never told her that the pate was RAW.... I just smiled inside and let the ignorance speak for itself.

I just like to throw whatever kind of soaked nuts I feel like into the food processor, with a little oil or pine nuts or tahini for creaminess, some veggies (like carrots, red pepper, celery, onion, garlic etc), and whatever herbs I want (fresh or dry).

Last night I made "pesto pate" out of soaked hazelnuts, unsoaked pine nuts, olive oil, white miso, fresh basil, garlic and sea salt. It wasn't bad.

That sounds good. Does the white miso add saltiness or sweetness?

I made this the other night to go into my sushi rolls:

    1 c soaked sunflower seeds
    5 soaked sun dried tomatoes
    1 clove garlic
    soy sauce (to taste)
    Dried parsley
water from tomatoes (used to thin pate)

Blend first 5 ingredients in a food processor adding water as needed to assist in blending and to achieve desired consistency.

Tasted really good in my sushi roll with sprouts, avocado, zucchini, jicama, and sun dried tomatoes.

Veggiemom2, your pate recipe for sushi rolls sounds wonderful! I think I might try making it... do you wrap it in nori rolls? Does the package say "raw"? :)

I do wrap them in nori rolls. I honestly didn't look real close at the package. It was the only one available at the store though too.

I am having them for lunch again today... so yummy.
