    Default Fruit frenzy

I am so excited. My grocery store closest to me has always had a lousy produce section. Well, they just re-opened and expanded the store. I was just walking into the produce section and the produce manager asked if he could help me find anything. I said I just wanted to wander around and see what kind of new things they might have added. He said there was a big new section with all kinds of weird things. I said like what? He said young coconuts and .....I interrupted with a big eyed what?! You have young coconuts! I've been looking everywhere for them!!!! I got 4 of them, a miradol papaya, asian pear and delicata squash and a horned melon. They had many other things too. What's a white coconut? How is it different from the brown or young? I've never tried any of these so I should spend my afternoon eating them......if I can get them opened .. haha

Alissa's DVD demonstrates it. She took the bottom part of the blade of a big chef's knife and cut into the top in a circle fashion and pulled the top off and dropped in a straw. I've never tried it so I'll let you know how I do. I'll make sure I do it on level ground, too. Poor dear, is she ok now?

Yesterday I found an Asian market near me and was overjoyed to find that they sold Durian. Looks like I'll be making a weekly trip for durian. My wife just rolled her eyes and said "What in the world is that?"

I'd love to taste one. No luck on that around here so far. My husband rolls his eyes at me a lot and I just say, "that's why you love me."
