Vitamix all the way. I know there will be lots of various opinions, but after I did a lot of research (on this site and online) I decided on the Professional Series VM and LOVE it.

I have the same Vitamix as Cinnamon does and love it!!!
I have never used a K-tec so cannot compare.
    Revvell has both so she is more familiar with the differences;
check out old threads...she has written about it before.
    Both are wonderful machines though.

I got my new vitamix today and it is sitting proudly on my worktop waiting for me to pay it some attention. I also got my new 9 tray excalibur and my water distiller. I have been too busy today to do anything other than put them in the correct location but I have just finished the project that I was working on so tomorrow I will be like a kid after Santa Clause has arrived.
I hope they are all as good as you guys have made them out to be or I am coming over there to get each and every one of you.

I vote for the K-tec. I love mine! So simple! And easy to clean.

I used my mom's Vitimix while on vacation and did not appreciate the dials >> turn this one then turn this one, etc.

But, I bet whichever one you decide on, you will love. After spending that kind of money -- you better!

    Enjoy it!

    k-tec, k-tec, k-tec!

Vita-mix is good to but I really prefer the k-tec!

Actually, the vita-mix factory is located just a couple of towns over and I still chose the k-tec!

Vita-Mix all the way. Own both AND the K-Tec has 3 containers. Still use the Vita-Mix daily. Holds more, starts off slower, no leaking out of the top.

Both are great machines, so I went with the appearance. I think the Ktech is much cuter. :)

oh, but have you checked out the new vitamix Professional series?
they look very pretentious and gourmet; love it! that's what I got, and yes, appearance did play a slight part...

I am about to purchase a blender guys and I already have anxiety about such a large amount of money for a blender but understand the reason behind it... I was reading on vitalityplus1.com that the K-tec is preferred 5:1. Revvell, Why do you prefer your vitamix vs the k-tec??

Because the container is larger (I separate the container from the base and put them side-by-side on the counter) and holds enough for two VERY large servings; it starts at a lower speed therefore never (or at least rarely) sending ingredients all over my kitchen; there's no hole in the top of the cover for contents to leak out....AND, one can take the middle section of the top off and add stuff. That's a good thing when adding oil to a dressing as it blends ~ and stays together better.

    I use it daily.
