Default would you eat coconut oil while fasting?

Not sure what this would do...aid or slow down detox? aid or slow down weightloss? It says it gives energy-something I'm going to need at the beginning of this fast, but I don't want to compromise my fast...

    anyone know the answer?

ETA: I will be fasting for 30 days.

personally I would not consume any fat during my fat b/c I am doing a pure juie fast. Fats slow down the cleansing process. Energy is usally sustained about the 3 rd day --I put ginger in my morning juice for a pick meup in my liver to give me circulation. I think what is more important is sustained energy---mixutres of greens and fruit juices.

part of fasting and detox is tiredness, sluggishness and highs adnlow b/c the body gets to concentrate on removing these toxins--that's why it is recommended to be relaxed and not participate in strenuous activities while fasting.

The answer is NO. No food allowed. Your body must feed on fat, not the oil. Fasting really starts when everything from you testines is gone. All poisons in a body are attached to fat and are in a leaver. After 5 to 7 days you will stop being hungry. You may feel week sometimes but do not worry. You can drink have an glass of your own urine [urinotherapy] when you feel weak. You will fill better in 20 minutes. Do not change your life style. you should even excesise a little bit. No drinking, no smoking.

    Purl, it really depends.

If you are doing a juice fast, you can determine whether you want to allow other things as well. Both fats and fiber slow the detox process, so adding either might allow you to cleanse more gently (although I'd personally recommend adding whole fruits/veg before adding oils or other fats).

If you are water fasting, your body will go into ketosis within the first 24-72 hours. During this time, it switches from using glucose for fuel to using body fat. Toxins are stored in fat, and your body will begin to consume it rapidly. For this reason, water fasting is considered very aggressive, and the detox effects can be dramatic.

A juice fast continues to allow the body glucose while cleansing, a choice that might be better if you need the energy. And about maintaining normal activities: fasting is a time of slowing the body and mind. It seems out-of-sync to expect that same level of functioning that we're accustomed to. If your body needs rest, take a nap. If you're not thinking clearly, quietly relax or read some spiritual literature. If you have a bit of energy and want to exercise, gently try it. Fasting is a great time to become more attuned to your body and what it needs :)

    Blessings,

    Joy
