Thread: No Detox

    Default No Detox

this sounds aberrant to the symptoms of others on raw...but I'm on the 9th day of the 30 day challenge and i've been eating 100% raw...however, i haven't felt any detox symptoms...i don't feel sick or anything...i feel perfectly normal...however i feel better as in mood and more energetic and my acne has been clearing up a little...does this happen?...or do i hav to wait longer for anything to happen?

i was raw before but not 100%...more like 85-90%...everyday, i start out in the morning w/ a raw smoothie...then hav another almondmilk/banana smoothie...then some fruit like an apple...and dinner usually some meal i prepare like a salad or sushi or soup...

    any responses?

there are two reasons people don't detox.

one is that you have detoxed enough with being partially raw (this happened to me)
the other is that you are so toxic, that your body can't detox it fast enough, and so it will take a long time to start the detox process.

But since you have been 80% or so, I'd say, that you have already detoxed alot and so be joyous.

    What wonderful news.

    Hey there!

Harvey Diamond in FIT FOR LIFE NOT FAT FOR LIFE says that around 20-25% of people will experience detox symptoms when following a raw food diet.

    Great book, by the way!

    18-20/18/0-5 Size goal
    45"/44"/23"-26" Waist goal

Overall goal: Reach the above by December 31, 2006 and wear a bikini by my 36th birthday June 15, 2007!

Thoughts create reality...so be careful what you focus on!

hmm....we'll c... maybe i'm just really clogged up b/c when i was 80% i didn't feel any detox symptoms either...maybe increased acne?...but i never really felt sick...plus, i think i'm 'backed up' too b/c everything i eat is not going out...is that why i don't hav any detox?...i hav a green smoothie in the morning and thats the only time i hav a mov't...should i hav a citrus fast since i don't hav a juicer for spinach juice?

I agree with RP, sometimes you won't notice the detox right away. It may take a few months to feel the detox effects.

a few months?? ...i'm just waiting for it to happen...i think, when is it coming when is it coming...in my mind i think that detox signifies ur getting better...but if i don't hav any symptoms, then what is really going on inside my body?

Another thought is that you're not old enough to have enough toxicity built up in your body. I'm 41 and my detox was really not bad... just some achieness, and cold-like symptoms here and there and some tiredness... but, in the very beginning, I did feel good. It took a while for the detox to start setting in. So yeah, my guess is you're a smart young lady who got on raw before you put your body through some of the things us older folks have :) Enjoy!!!

    Smile new vegan

You probably already detoxed mostly before becoming 100% raw.
