Default Raw foods, autism and detoxing children

I have no idea where to start on this rawfood thing...my 8 yo twins have High functioning autism-the are currently on seroquel. I'd like to feed them raw foods instead of meds.

I'm afraid to detox them-I've heard the mercury can cause more damage coming out, than it did going in. I don't know what I'm asking for-maybe just a link or two to get me started....thanks

    Hi Purl,

You may want to contact our member Allison. She doesn't post often, but she has a son who is autistic and he made some REMARKABLE improvements when she fed him raw foods.

Here are some of her discussion threads from the past:

thanks-I did read her 2 threads before posting-but they were from about a year ago, so I didn't post to them. Thought it might be better to start a more current thread. I will check out her journal and maybe send her a pm too. thanks!

many prayers and thoughts to your son and his healing.......please keep us posted. when I researched for my sis's co worker and her son, cilantro kept coming up as a powerful mercury remover.

    PURL,
I PM'd you about our son and what we have done in the past.
It's a hard walk, but dietary changes has really helped
him a lot and has lead me to the raw lifestyle.

    Default autism

With autism, it is of vital importance that you feed your child absolutey no grains of any kind! Do a search of Elaine Gotshall's autism research and the SCD diet and you will learn why grains must be avoided.

A friend of mine introduced me to a family that had two autistic children. The children naturally on their own refused meat (wont even look at it) and naturally only eat fresh vegetables.

okay-that's totally weird (in a good sense!) My dc have always hated meat and never ate it til they were 5-6. My 8 yo nephew (who's not dx'd yet-but is my 8 yo boys' soul-triplet ) 8 months ago he declared himself a vegetarian....fascinating!

My boss at work has a little girl that decided to be a vegetarian and her doctor said it wasn't safe. By the way, my raw vegan doctor has been a vegetarian since birth.

The issues around Autism/Asperger Syndrome are inflamation of the brain as well as permiability and inflamation of the GI tract. In making the body more alkaline, it may possibly help with cerebral pain and irritability because acidity causes pain, but you really need to fight one of the main causes, which is the measles virus in the GI tract in most of these kids.

I just started on the raw food journey today but have been doing aromatherapy for years and know that oregano oil (diluted with vegetable oil for children) is helpful with this, i.e. drops in capsules inserted. Onions and garlic are very potent antivirals as well, so I'm sure this can be addressed with the raw food lifestyle as well as the concurrent candida problems these kids suffer. Many of these children are carbaholics for this very reason and seek out starch to feed the craving of the candida. Kill the measles virus, make sure the appropriate enzymes and probiotics are in place to heal the gut, and that is a big part of the battle.

Something also helpful is heavy metal chelation which can be administered by caplet or IV depending on the treatment. You would need to have urine analysis done with a chelator under a doctor's care who knows what they are talking about, i.e. a DAN! doctor (Defeat Autism Now! protocol). Any amalgams would need to be replaced as well. There are numerous web sites listed on our parent group at http://spclneedsparents.meetup.com/3/about/ under Autism/Asperger. I recommend watching the video about amalgams as it shows the nerve damage due to mercury in childhood vaccinations as well. If you need more information please email me privately. Our organization works very closely with the Autism Society and our board members, one of whom is an MD, agree with the treatments recommended by the Autism Reseach Institute in California.
