16th day 100% raw
hello everyone,
Just found this site today! Bought Alissa's book and dvd's in mid November, got them on the 20th started raw November 21, 2004. So today is day 16
I am 26, wife and mother. I am 5'10" and started at 158.5 today I am 153.0
so 5.5 pounds so far (great!) I have been going by Alissa's four week trial list and adding or changing a few of the menu items. Normally fruit in the am till noon then a salad or one of her items then i switch it the next day etc.
And the fudge balls are great. The problem is I don't feel any better. I had a major problem sleeping before and suffered from headaches too. Always just felt crappy. I stopped caffeine Nov 3rd. Is it possible this is still detox?
It is starting to worry me, this week and the end of last I had severe cravings but I made it. I am sticking this out, but just wanted to know if that was normal or what. I have made a daily log of how I have felt and what I ate everyday, but I didn't want to take up too much room. Any help is grateful.

Brenda,
You are doing GREAT!! Five and a half pounds in 2 weeks - AWESOME! You are most likely going through detox. Everyone is different and some people detox longer than others. Drink lots of water to help flush your system. Has anyone told you about coffee enemas? They do seem to speed up the detox process ... at least it did for me!
You can post your daily log in the journal section. I'm not sure how it works, I'm not a journal-type person. I'm a homeschool mom and it takes all I have to get through that! Funny thing is - I love to write! Just don't have time for it at this point in my life. Posting on this and another forum is all I can do. Anyway, I'm sure someone will jump in and explain how to do the journal section.
Keep up the great work! I'm proud of you. Oh, and by the way, WELCOME!!! I'm glad you joined us. Look forward to following your progress.;)

P.s.
I forgot to mention that when detoxing your body goes through a "healing crisis". So, that should explain why you are not feeling well. Hang in there, one day you'll look back and will be amazed at how far you've come and how great you feel.

Thanks guys, sometimes I think it helps just to have someone that has gone through the same thing to bounce things off of. I appreciate it. I have tried to make things easier, like cooking just twice a week for the family and letting them be more active in their food intake, but they are trying my recipes, some they like, some not. (well me too) slowly but surely. I am going to Providence RI on thursday for four days, so i am alittle anxious but there is a whole foods market near where I am staying so I hope that will help. thanks guys

Brenda,
When I travel, I pack snack Ziplock bags with sunflowers seeds and/or dates. I bring along apples and carrots sticks. Just bring some snacks along that you can munch on to keep you satisfied. You'll do fine. ;)

Just wanted to say hi and welcome!
From what I've read of our other former coffee drinking members, what you're experiencing most likely is detox and probably from the coffee (headaches seem to be the main effect of caffeine withdrawals) but you ARE doing great...16 days of being raw is GREAT!

Hi Brenda,
Great job! Keep it up. Hopefully you are getting alittle exercise in also (like walking). 16 days.....Wonderful!!
Peace.

Welcome Brenda,
You are okay just keep this in mind, for most of us whether we are 19 or 60 have been eating food that has been processed to death and has very little nutrition in it. Besides that all the preservatives and additives in everything one can buy at the store. Hang in there and realize this way of eating is not a diet it is a life style change and that takes time. I am over 90% raw right now for about 2 months and I have days that are great energy wise and days where by mid afternoon I am dragging. I am not discouraged though, I have made a commitment to be 100% raw for 2005 and not look at how I feel or am doing until the end of 2005. In other words I am giving this way of eating over 1 year to prove itself to me and then I will decide. :)
So give your body, mind and spirit some time to change to this way of living.

Hey Brenda. Congrats on being raw. It sounds like what is going on is detox. I'm 26, a wife and mother as well. How old is/are your child(ren)?
