Default perfect routine for small space?

    Hello everyone.

I'm preparing to go raw in a few weeks as I am currently visiting my parents for the holiday (I'm in college), and I'd like a fun exercise routine to go along with it. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea for a work out or some sort of video that will be easy to do in a small apartment. Even with moving furniture around, the most space I am going to get is about 5 square feet. I can't exercise or walk outside as I have class/work during daylight and do not feel comfortable being out after dusk in my area. I'd also really like something with low impact on the floors as my downstairs neighbor may progress to killing me instead of just shooting me dirty looks.

Sorry if that is really restrictive, but I was hoping maybe someone knew about some fun work out tapes or even weight routines I can do to keep myself active. Thanks so much.

Its a bit tough do do too much in the limited space so you will have to be creative.

If you want to lift weights and have a few dumbells and want an all over DB weight work out I could suggest Rachel McGlish Weight tape, she hits it all except cardio.

Karen Voight also has one that uses a body bar. And the T Tapp suggested here in a thread would work to but that may have order and delivery time. Other tapes should be available at the bigger video stores.

As far as cardio , other than jogging in place, calistentics, if you have a rebounder..(sounds like not) or a step that would work well. Do you have a ball...you can do alot with that. To fight cardio boredom in a small space do 3 min cardio intervals while doing your tape of choice. I think Denise Austin has a show that does her work outs in a very limited area, see what is in your area.

You could try T Tap. You get the benifits of weights and cardio. There are a few treads here about it.

Hi, kayla, you didn't mention what type of exercise you do now; however, if you have weights, then do your lifting. You could also do squats, lunges with lighter weights in a controlled rhythm for cardio -- that'll get your heart pumpin'! Also, you could jump rope. Can you go for a walk or jog in the morning?
Do you practice yoga? A yoga video might be nice; I know there are some that incorporate some fat-burning/cardio into the routines.

    Best,
