I dont think that you will have any sucess with that. Most rice is sterile.

Is it sterile because it is a GMO to not reproduce?

I have read so much about Monsanto and their attempts to corner the rice market by supplying sterile rice to asian farmers so that they have to come back year after year to buy rice for seed. Maybe I am scaremongering.

I have read about Monsanto in Jane goodal new book; i just had no idea that ALL rice was effected.

In her book she says to stay away from ALL corn, canola, and soy; because it is mostly GMO unless you KNOW it is organic; however it is never truly organic due to cross farmer contamination (which is a whole nother story )but I always wondered about rice.

One time I soaked my brown rice and it took days before it sprouted. They grew little tails.

wow, didn't know that rice could be such and economic/agricultural issue

    Saml or anyone,

how do you prepare your sprouted rice---do you eat the sprout or the seed (does the seed get soft enough to eat)?
