The FIRM - workout videos
Has anyone bought/tried 'The FIRM' videos and step aerobics? Mine just came in the mail today- I haven't had a chance to do the workout yet. My plan is to do this cardio in the mornings and weights at night. Any comments?

Unless you look like the girl leading the video, be ready to get you butt kicked.... :)

Oooh well that's not a bad thing. I love the idea of actually getting a 'workout' from a workout video. I'm in shape but do NOT look like those girls!

Waiting
I have ordered this workout program and am waiting to recieve it, and i have to order the living on live food book, so i am looking to start 2006 in a great way ;)

I don't have the newer tapes, but several of the older ones. They are a good thorough workout, and yeah, they kick my butt! But it's a good "butt-kickin'" ;)
You won't be disappointed. Several of my friends do the Firm too and we all love them! They are effective and not boring. I'm still overweight, but am usually able to completely do some of the basic workouts (very early Firm workouts, some of my friends say they are too easy, but that's okay by me - I still feel it) even if I've not exercised in a while...like now...so I'm inspired to go pull out one of my videos now!

PandaBear,
I LOVE the Firm! I have been using them for the past 3 years or so. I have the older ones where they use the Firm "fanny lifter" and also the newer ones with the Firm "box". It's a great workout because you get it done-light weights and cardio- and you have fun with it. I own several because I like to mix it up. It does kick butt in the beginning, but then you catch up and it becomes fun. I can't wait for you to get started. You'll love it.
I haven't used them since becoming raw in the past week, but I look forward to using them again, in addition to running, now that I've got energy again and am past the horrible headachey detox days :)

like some of the other posters, i use the older Firms, referred to as "The Classics." They're a great workout and the production values in the older workouts have never been equalled, as far as i'm concerned, though some of these workouts are 20 years old. i've been a Firm user since the first tape came out. as promised, they've kept my fanny lifted.

I've been using the firm for over two years now. It's one of the best work outs out there. It really gets you in shape! I don't know where you are in shape wise but one word of advice, don't over do it. If you can't keep up, just do the motions in and walk in place, drop the weights or do a slower version of the movement. The endurance will come. Have fun! :)

I LOVE THE FIRM!!! Be consistent and they WILL shape you up!!!

Hi PandaBear!
I have purchased and used almost all of the FIRMS's older videos and LOVE them all!! The most recent DVD's I have of theirs is about 2 years old and those are awesome too!!
Yes, as many have already posted, be prepared to WORK. But also, do not over do it. I absolutely love the "fanny lifter" and now their new "system" looks pretty good as well. I have used the FIRM (off and on) since 1996 and thoroughly enjoy their workouts! Although, it's been about a year since I last used their videos (or did any type of serious exercise! LOL!) so I"m glad you reminded me of them again. I'm now training to run the Chicago Marathon in Oct. (with the RunRaw group that Kmik started) so I'll be busy doing that. But I'm sure I can incorporate the FIRM into this triaining somehow. :)
Hope you enjoy your FIRM!!

I am wondering if I am going to have the endurance and willpower to exercise while drinking the lemon drink for 21 days. How do I maintain energy and still exercise (cardio and strength training)? I have finally forced myself to accept that I have to work out at home now since I can no longer afford the gym at the university. I do love the pilates and I have some old Tae Bo tapes which I have always loved and still do; I have some other stuff as well. I am simply wondering how do I do it? Will I have the energy?

a friend of mine dropped 75 pounds in 8 months just doing the firm two days a week and yoga and pilates two days a week (alternating). She wasn't raw, but mostly vegan and mostly cooked. Also, she's like 55 years old and now has a body most TWENTY FIVE year olds would love to have. SHe's amazing and said she LOVES the firm-that they are very effective.

The FIRM Workout
Oh my goodness, the FIRM workout system does totally kick your butt!!! It has been a year since I last did them, and I am thinking of starting again. I too have the old tapes with the "fanny lifter", and YES, it does "lift your fanny"! I hope you guys will find this useful, and enjoy whatever way you choose to lose weight. What most matters is that you are happy and healthy. Hope you all had a good holiday weekend. Cheers!
