Default out of town party and food

We're travelling a full day to go to a family party. It's potluck (S.A.D.), and there will be about a zillion people there. What raw food can I bring for my family for the party? I would like it to be something that others won't think is too weird, as they think we are weird enough already : )

I'll take some veggies with dip, but I'm going to need something more substantial than that, or at least another dish or two to make a meal that my family can eat.

I'd like to take something like the pesto-stuffed mushrooms, but I've only had them straight out of the dehydrator. Does anyone know if they hold up well or are good at room temperature? Any other ideas?

The stuffed mushrooms are great even at room temperature. I have eaten them from the fridge too but they are better at room temp. What about bringing some kind of zucchini spaghetti with marinara sauce? That is super easy to make and doesn't take too long. When is the party (how long will you have to make the food etc?)

The party is in a week and a half, so I have plenty of time to make something, if I can go ahead and come up with a good idea.

I made some Chili Lime Uncorn Chips from Rejuvenate Your Life by Serene Allison yesterday. They are really good and will travel well, so I might take those as a snack.

Mmm yeah those do sound yummy, I bet they would go great with some guacamole. It's good you have time to prepare and you're not in a hurry so hopefully we all can come up with some good ideas. Is there a main theme or anything like are you supposed to bring dessert or a main course or salad etc or are you going to bring whatever you would like?

Everyone is supposed to bring a main dish, a dessert, and a drink. I've got the drink covered--water! Dessert will probably be some type of raw cookie. Main dish? I don't know. I like raw pasta, but I think the SAD eaters will think it's too weird. I'm thinking I may just go with a green salad and a fruit salad. Not too creative, I know.

I love the idea of the guacamole with the crackers. I might do that and include veggies with it instead of the green salad.

How much time do you want to take making everything? I bet raw lasagna would be a hit. I had this at a raw restaurant in nyc and went with a few people who were not raw or even veg and they loved it! Lasagana is actually pretty easy to make but it depends on how much time you want to spend on everything. Have you tried the date nut torte? There's a recipe for it on alissas website and I have heard it is really good though I haven't tried it myself. I would definately bring the stuffed mushrooms if you have a dehydrator and guacamole is always a good bet because everyone loves guacamole right lol! Sliced cucumber is really good to dip in guac too. You could also try some kind of raw pizza or something like that but if they are mostly sad eaters it might be better to bring something a little more rich like lasagna or ravioli etc. Also what about bringing a fruit pudding? I bet everyone would love that.

Avocados are so cheap right now. Can't understand why, but taking advantage of eating them. Maybe a guac dip with some veggies to our rawluck would be quick and simple for my desire. I usually love the gourmet food others bring, but for me I hardly do that anymore, but aim for the simple stuff--quick and easy.

Wish dying hair was all that simple and not so messy, but inevitable today. I do use the natural one...Naturtint. Whole Foods, Wild Oats and similar places have. Check out online too. I love it, but hate the process...I have it dripping all over me even when I protect myself. Once a month more than enough and hating the process too.
