    Default Onion Dip Question

I want to make Alissa's onion dip recipe on page 305. Do I need to soak the macadamia nuts first before making the dip?

No you donÂ’t need to. The secret is to get this really really really smooth! Use a blender or a vitamix and use enough water so that it is smooth and then add just enough nuts to get it thick, it will also thicken up as you let it sit. Then add the onions! This is sooo good, i just made it for the dinner event i did. I put it into hollowed out red cabbage and people went crazy for it!

The onion dip is really good on Alissa's chili!!! Let me tell you about the chili... I was a little leary when I was making it. I'm not wild about raw tomatoes and the combination of ingredients seemed a little strange to me... but WOW, the chili was fantastic!! My roommate made cooked chili the same day I made my raw chili and even she prefered mine! And that's saying a LOT! :)

thanks greengirl, i will look up her chili recipe and try it on there. I just wish the macadamia nuts weren't so expensive!! $8 for 1 cup is what i pay.

You can use anything to dip, any kind of crackers are awesome! The rye bagels
With the onion dip are amazing!!! And yes, the chili that is my husbands favorite dish, the chili with onion dip, its sooooo good, i made a huge batch of it for super bowl Sunday and it was gone very quickly even though we were the only raw food people there!
