    Question RAW or Cleanse first?

I've read many messages about cleanses on the board such as the Master cleanse, which I did order the book. I was wondering...
Should I cleanse before RAW? Or should I begin RAW and cleanse later? How often do you cleanse? Or any other info I should know before I start. I was hoping to start raw within the next two days. Thanks!!

My partner, David, and I did a 19-day Master Cleanse first, then went raw. This worked well for us. I've heard it said that the MC is like a "reset" button for your body, and that it helps eliminate cravings faster. That said, I've read Alissa's book. Most of the people in the book (and on this site, too, I think) just started eating raw without a cleanse beforehand.

Yeah, it really depends on you...each is different. I know that our member Todd (Tglasco) did a MC and then juice fast and then raw. Many people use the MC or other juice fast to kickstart their raw diet. But then again, as Lauraw said, some just go right into it. I think what happens often is after a successful fast, you are just intuitively conscious of what you're putting into your body.

Some do...only thing is, the MC uses maple syrup and that's not raw. So, again, it boils down to personal preference and how much of a "purist" you are in your rawness! :)

Some have done the MC and subbed the maple syrup with agave instead or just did a juice fast cleanse. Now many raw fooders will go raw and then later do juice fasts or water fasts, and some even the MC. In fact, I believe there are some threads here where people have started and done the MC after having gone raw.

Thanks for the input. I prefer to cleanse later. Thanks for the agave suggestion. I will use that instead.
