    Question Question about carrot juice

My new juicer arrived today..I,m excited to start experimenting.

My last trip to Whole Foods I bought carrot juice and I have to be honost and say even cold from the fridge it didn't taste all that good. Is this just an aquired taste kind of thing? Is there anything I can do to maybe make it taste a little better? I don't want to be turnded off to juicing just because of one bad experience. Yikes...I haven't even gotten to the green stuff yet.

I'm confused. You say you purchased a juicer and you don't like the purchased, bottled, pasturized carrot juice. Why don't you try it freshly made and see if you like it or not? IF you try it freshly made and you don't like it, juice up some apples and mix them together. You might add some ginger to the blend also.

I'm thinking you may find that what you make yourself, using fresh, organic ingredients may taste much better than the over processessed pasturized so-they-don't-have-any-nutrients-or-viable-enzymes stuff.

I have always found carrot juice pretty yucky too. Straight carrot, ick, carrot ginger at Wild Oats, puke! But I got a juicer and started juicing carrots and apples together and it is so good I have two large glasses every morning, over ice. A little apple makes a difference.

The only carrot juice I've ever had is what I juiced myself. I've had carrot only and carrot mixed with other fruits and veggies and I like it either way.

The carrot juice I bought was from Whole Foods and it's organic and not pasterized, and I still wasn't crazy about it. Thank You for the tip about apple juice, I am going to add it tomorrow.

I think it may be accumulating to taste. The first time I tried raw carrot juice (back in 1974), I thought it was disgusting. However, times change! I love raw carrot juice all by itself. It is also good mixed with apple juice and other sweeteners, but, I can drink carrot juice all by itself now.

Your taste buds will change, the further you go into raw.

    Blessings.
