Default My anxiety greatly diminishes when I fast?

Does anybody know the reason as to why my anxiety could be going away when I dont eat?
As soon as I stop eating solids and just drink juice/tea/stock my anxiety reduces greatly and my insides feel calm.
Its like usually my body is really noisy but I dont notice.

I started fasting off around a 60% raw diet, this was not to lose weight or to get rid of anxiety but because whatever I eat is causing me really bad gas and acid reflux. I have tried every combination you can think of and eating very simply but everything seems to cause problems so I decide to not purposely fast but my body is telling me to do so,so fasting for a couple of days. The other day I was stressed and getting stabbing sore pains about 3 inches below the middle of my chest. I've also bloated right out the past couple of weeks, stools not solid. Somebody said that it sounds like a stomach ulcer or gastritis.

Does it indicate that I have some blood sugar problems or food intolerences if my body becomes much calmer as soon as I stop eating, I would go as far as to say that I can concentrate alot more.

My anxiety started when I had an operation to remove my appendix and diverticulus ever since I have problems with food and feeling dizzy/nausea quite often. I went back and they said that it could be endometriosis or IBS , they checked without an endoscope as after the problems they caused last time I have huge fear of them butchering my insides up, they didnt find any endo with external and internal scans so said its probably IBS.
Since having the surgery(7-8years ago) also I find I will need a BM but then once I sit down it goes back inside(I know gross), I have to do deep breaths, listen to music, meditate to be able to go.
If somebody goes in the room next door or tries talking to me, it goes again and I feel awful and it might be another 10 hours before it lets me know its ready to come out.
I also notice recently that I have to contact my muscles to try and get things moving or out/do colon massage or squat. I have been looking at the squatting stools but im more concerned about why its happened when before it wasnt great but I felt the urge to go and went.

Any ideas? Am I just going to have to eat hardly anything for the rest of my life but then eat when I know I will be alone so I can maintain my weight?
getting minerals and nutritents I could manage I think in whole food powders? will the junk in my colon just sit there until the fast is over, or will the liquids keep moving it out? I dont knwo what I think about colon therapy have read good and bad reviews on it, I cannot afford it right know though.

The gas/acid reflux I get the more stressed I am, after the operation though I get stressed over tiny everyday things. I meditate, exercise but still get stressed easily if I have to be shut indoors with other people. Outdoors im not so bad.
I have seen a CBT in the past and various therapists the only thing that made any sense was a past life reading I had but finding out the infomation just made me aware of the possible causes but not of a cure.

Anxiety may be a result of multiple food sensitivites, as a result of leaky gut.

Been there, done that, still happening when I get contaminated with offending foods. Have had my appendix ripped out too, after they burst it for me on the xray table.

Vagus nerve irritation may also be associated when your hiatal hernia and refolux acts up. I get anxiety and nightmarews whenever my hernia is flared. That might be the chest pain you feel and part of the cause of the reflux.
I suggest you see Dr. Brenda Watson's material for her many healing methods for, and explainations of digestive disorders. Very worth the cost of the H.O.P.E. package, but you might be able to find her books second hand more cheaply. P

ractice the heel drop method to help with the hiatal hernia. Discover what your food sensitivities are throughy ELISA testing. Fast as needed to get relief and during those times, do your research and make plans of how you are going to tackle things.

Don't let them put you on anti-anxiety drugs or proton pump inhibitors....they will very likely only worsen your condition.

I cant remember whether it was before or after the surgery but Im sure I was tested for food allergies. I think something changed the past 5 years and then again the past 3 years because I developed hay fever which I never use to have and then a dust allergy.

They burst it? sorry to hear that. How did that happen??

I always thought it was a minor thing until the affects of it started to kick in.

Sounds like I had a good appendix aswell as they saved my medical videos to show students as it was the biggest one they had ever seen.

Thanks I will look up those things :)

I will look up hernias, I always thought they were visable but maybe thats when they get to the later stage? someone should me theirs once..had trouble eating that day lol

I have been on anti anxiety and depression medication in the past, cannot remember the names of them all but my reaction to them I think is when I first started going raw. They made me ALOT worse and I had no control over my body, wanted to jump out of a window but my brain did not if that makes sense. Was awful experience. My pupils were dilated the whole time and it didnt lessen my anxiety, it did make it worse like you say.

Brydee. I can totally relate to a lot of what you are saying. I can hardly tolerate any food during the day and the only time I can eat is after my responsibilities for the day are over. I have digestive problems with nearly everything at the moment, so am thinking it is time to fast. I get a reaction from everything. Even the juice of quarter of a lemon in water is too much for my system in the morning. Usually I don't eat until 1pm on weekdays, and then it is just a juice, because I don't want to eat the fibre. Then I'm so hungry by the time I leave work, so I eat to try and make up the calories, as I don't want to get too skinny. It is very draining. I am hoping that fasting will reset my system. Good luck with your health issues Brydee... I know how exhausting it is...
