Default Thoughts on Sprouts and Pregnancy

    Hello there raw friends.

I am pregnant with my second child. This will be my first attempted raw pregnancy. I've been very regularly growing my own and eating sprouts for about a year now. I put them in everything! I love the taste. Question is, why are they so bad for pregnancy?

They are full of protein and are a very clean fuel for your body. All I can find is information about the harmful effects of salmonella and e coli that you can get from sprouts. First off, when is the last time you heard about this happening? People help me to understand. My instinct is that they would be great for pregnancy! Especially homegrown, frest sprouts.

Any advice would be great. I can't image 10 months without sprouts

I am on my first pregnancy and I know I am going to depend on sprouts for a great source of living enzymes and protein. I believe the e.coli and salmonella may be a possibility, but only for sprouts that are sitting in store or in your fridge for an extended amount of time. I personally wouldn't eat old sprouts anyway- it's not like they taste delish- nor do they generally last that long in my house!
