    Hey everybody!

Tonight I walked at a brisk pace 4 miles with the dog.

Gianni - Boy are you right - I've been sleeping like a baby!
    -------------------------

We're back from our trip. I'm taking today and tomorrow as rest days. Totally beat from my week of hard skiing. Plus my knee is a little tender so I figure better to rest it than push it. I do have a busy day tomorrow, however, and have to "paper" a city for a charity event with which I'm involved so I'll probably end up walking at least several miles.

    Cheers!

Sounds like you had a nice ski trip, Queenbee.

    --------

This morning, I walked for 10 minutes to warm up, then jogged for 15 minutes, walked for 3 minutes, jogged for another 15 minutes, then walked for 20 minutes to cool down.

Good evening, just returned from a week in the Caribbean, I averaged 5-6 mi a day between walking and running; added some weightlifting, jump rope, rock climbing and a zip line.

My workout today was 20 min warmup, 8 min of rebounding followed by:

Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes of:

    10 Kettlebell swings, 35#
10 Box jumps, 20 inch box
    10 Ring dips (jumping)

    10 rounds +10 KBS+6 BJ. GET SOME!

Those that blame others can never improve.
Those that have no goals, go nowhere.
Those that accept little, get little.

Welcome back Choose2BWell. You must have enjoyed the change in the weather on your holiday. Did you get a lot of sun?

    ------

Yesterday, I walked the dog for about 2.75 miles.

This morning, the dog and I walked 10 minutes to warm up, then jogged for 20 minutes. Then I dropped the dog off home, walked for 5 minutes, and then jogged another 20 minutes. I then walked 30 minutes to cool down. It was a good work out, but my feet are starting to blister a little bit.

    Hi guys!

@ Choose2BeWell: Ahhh, a week in the Caribbean... sigh. My husband and I have been contemplating a winter trip like that. Sounds amazing.

@ Gianni: I've been wondering what kind of dog you have? He/she seems to be able to keep up with lots of walking/jogging! I hope your feet feel better. I hate blisters.

Today for me = 5-mile run.
Tomorrow I'm starting the 2-week beginner program linked @ me from Choose2BeWell.

    Good evening,

Gianni, yes I did get a lot of sun. A cruise vacation is the way to go, but you have to plan your meals. Breakfast and lunch are easy......... I gave in a few times, but quickly stepped up my game and got back on track.

The sad part is listening to some of the guys seating in the sauna and steam room saying every ten minutes in here means I can have another adult beverage..... Made me push harder to workout every day! It was a good reminder of what I don't want to revert to. I had a few people approach me during my workout asking if they could join me wanting to know more about what motivates me.

Queenbee, enjoy tomorrow's workout! Get some!

My workout today 20 min stretching, 15 min of rebounding

    Hope For Kenya workout

Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 12 minutes of:
    50 Squats
    30 Push-ups
    15 Pull-ups

2 rounds + 50 squats, got a little tough, but worked through it Get some!

She's a 2½ year-old, 85 pound, golden retriever. I don't run all that fast (not yet anyway), and as long as the weather isn't too warm, she can usually keep up with me jogging for 20-25 minutes or so. It's when we stop jogging that she wants to stop completely, whereas I want to keep walking.

Lately I've been doing a beginners jogging training program of my own with some interval training. Usually I'll jog a bit with the dog but then drop her off at home before the last interval like I did today.

My feet are not too bad. I even jogged to the supermarket this evening. It's just a layer of skin under one of my toes that kind of blistered off probably from the increase in miles I have been putting in recently. It doesn't seem too bad though I may take tomorrow kind of easy.

Similarly, one of my neighbors said to me on Sunday as we crossed for the 2nd time in our neighborhood while walking/jogging, "Now, we can have a cold one." He was saying we deserved a beer because we were exercising.

Let them have their beers. I'll have a green smoothie instead.

    Thumbs down Argh...

I'm kind of bummed right now b/c my knee is messed up a little and it's thrown a crimp in my workout plans for the week. :/ I need to take today off completely b/c it's green and swollen (yuck). But with the brace it's feeling better, so I think tomorrow I can start back into something slow. I was going to run today anyway, but I've BTDT too many times in the past - at this point I think taking a rest day so that I recover is smarter than pushing too hard and ending up paying for it for weeks. I am doing some sit-ups and push-ups, etc., however. Just not getting my usual burn ...

Hopefully tomorrow will be better for me!!

Sorry to hear about your knee. You're right to take it easy on it, especially more so if there is/was swelling.

    ------
This morning with the dog, we walked 10 minutes , jogged 20 minutes at a comfortable pace. I dropped the dog off home, then walked for 5 minutes, jogged 10 minutes more at a faster pace. Finally, I walked about 30 minutes to cool down.

This evening I went for about a 2.5 mile walk with the dog. She did well this morning, but she was feeling the humidity tonight.

    @ C2BW: Feel better soon!!
@ Gianni: Thanks for the well wishes - it's really feeling better today (yes!).
    --------------
Yesterday I did sit-ups and push-ups again and continued to rest the knee, though I worked in a warehouse moving merchandise everywhere for a charity rummage sale so I did stay active. My knee was in a brace and felt good throughout all of that, so I think today I'm ready to give it a try on a regular workout. It's still a little bruised, but not swollen at all and only hurts if I really press on it.

    Cheers!

@queenbee - did you strain your knee or twist it skiing or by doing something else?

Thursday - walked 30 min. in the morning, 60 min. in the evening

Friday morning - walked 30 min

Friday evening - walked 20 min. to warm up, then 20 min. jogging at a comfortable pace, 4 min. rest/recovery, then 20 more minutes jogging at a still comfortable yet faster pace, 30 min. walking to cool down.

Saturday morning - 50 min. walk

@ Gianni: I have bad knees, and then when we were sledding I knocked it around a little too hard but it was fine. However, on the last day of skiing the conditions were really bad (warm and slushy), which makes for hard turns. At one point I just wrenched my knee trying to turn. It had already been bothering me a tiny bit the previous few days, but I think that final day skiing in those conditions after it was already banged up a bit just "did it in." I've had much worse from skiing given my knees, so I'm actually feeling okay with it this time. It is now feeling decent, though a bit sore at times.

Yesterday was a 3 mile walk for me plus yoga.

    Cheers!
