I definitely feel for you all in the northern hemisphere - it seems that the winter there has been especially harsh this year.

Tuesday was a rest day. We're back home and the weather has cooled down quite a bit.

Wednesday morning (yesterday) - the dog and I walked 1 mile, then did 3 successive intervals of [ 8 minutes light jogging + 2 minutes walking ]. Then I dropped the dog at home, and I walked a further 1.3 miles to cool down.

Wednesday evening, the dog and I walked 2.6 miles.

@ Gianni - sounds like a really active day! That's great!!

For me, Wednesday was a 5-mile run. What was great was that I have started using my heart-rate monitor again (the battery died about a year ago and it took me this long to get it fixed) and it made a HUGE difference in my run. With it, I realized I hadn't been pushing myself enough. So yesterday I kept increasing the speed until my HR hit where I wanted it to (160+) and I was able to run 1.5 min/mile faster! That's a significant difference and I'm definitely going to keep using the monitor.

    Cheers!

Fabulous bike ride today on the Expresso - beat my personal best. Of course, for whatever reason my time didn't get recorded... argh.

Good evening, I am traveling and beginning Sunday I will be off the grid until next Sat. But this morning while waiting for my flight ( as I usually do) I broke out the jump rope and did 10x 100 single unders. You should have seen the looks I got from the bagel, cream cheese and SAD food crowd. It just made me push harder. Get Some.

Choose2BWell - Good for you for getting your exercise when and where you want.

Your story reminds me a bit of an African exchange student I knew at college who was very athletic. Whenever I saw him on campus, he would always be running at a good clip to wherever it was he was going.

    ------------

Last night, took the dog out for a 2.6 mile walk.

Love the jump roping at the airport! This has inspired me to bring mine on my trip - didn't even occur to me before. I had an unscheduled rest day yesterday so I will be doing my 5 mile run today. I, too, am leaving and won't be back online until next weekend (or midweek if the lodge we move to had Wi-Fi). I will be in a mountain cabin Sunday thru Tuesday, then downhill skiing Wednesday thru Friday.

    Have a great week!

    Hey guys:
Am in the snowy mountains. We were at a cabin until today, and now we are at a ski resort. Here's a quick update:
    Monday: a snowy hike ~ 1mile + 15 minutes of jumping rope
Tuesday: a serious uphill hike + lots of sledding (what a great workout & so much fun!)
Today: full day of downhill skiing - spent much of the time working on technique, so I am beat!

    Cheers!!

Queenbee - one thing I love about skiing is how well you sleep at night. I think it's a combination of crisp, clean mountain air in addition to the physical exercise of skiing all day.

    --------------

Yesterday, I walked a mile with the dog.

    This morning - walked 10 minutes to warm up then did [ 2 X ( 12 minutes jogging + 3 minutes walking) ] + [ 15 minutes jogging] + 30 minutes walking to cool down.
I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.
