Feb 2013 30 day Challenge - join anytime of the month
Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge and welcome to our new monthly format.
This is our monthly challenge thread. We are choosing to do one (or perhaps split into two) continual threads so we can create a community of support within this challenge. You can join this thread at any time during the month. Don't be shy... we love new posters!!! So if you want to join us... please do!
I welcome people who are already 100% raw to join in the conversation - supporting our challengers in their quest!
This thread is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to 30 consecutive days of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
I will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month. If I forget... send me a quick email and remind me... I'll get the challenge thread online for you quickly.
The focus of the monthly challenge is on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, don't beat yourself up over it or dwell on it - but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going! This thread is about celebrating what you are eating that IS raw!
I welcome you all to share pics of your dishes, ask questions, share what you are consuming (as long as it's raw). We are here to listen to your emotional and physical challenges. So share share share!!!
OH and the best part of this (not only the support but...) you can subscribe to this thread and get notified every time someone posts to it. This way you will be connected!
So let's get this party started!!!
Okay, I'm in. I got my raw food order today, so I'm well prepared!
Myself and a few others. I have been "bad" and I realize how much I am addicted to sugar. I did the 30 day raw food diet last year and felt fantastic.
Really looking forward to getting back into it.
I'll start the photos running with my dinner tonight:
Pineapple Pizza w/Salad:
Sorry it's not pretty a picture.. I am eating right now!
Happy February - it came in with snow here!
Breakfast: cacao, banana, pineapple smoothie (with green tea powder & maca)
Snack: pineapple & coconut (I was wishing for more tropical weather)
Lunch: Creamy Broccoli Soup (I am almost addicted to this - from RFFE)
Snack: 3 flax crackers with Grezzo cheese (Oh. My. - hard to stop at the little 3 I had) & a raw pecan brownie with cacao frosting (mmmmm)
Dinner: corn chowder w/avocado
Snack: leftover smoothie from breakfast
I really want to do more of a lower-fat approach, but today was not that day. And given all the raw snacks I made today in preparation for Sunday's big game... I'm thinking a Monday start to lowER fat will be more appropriate. Snack for Superbowl include: two kinds of Grezzo cheese, raw cheeze-its, crackers, extra brownies, raw pizza crusts ... so far. I'm hosting - if you couldn't tell.
Queenbee, fantastic menu.
For the first 2 days ate fruit and soaked raw cashew nuts and fresh coconut water. They are aplenty here.
This morning beetroot, carrot and celery juice diluted with fresh coconut . I have my dehydrator set up and today will be spent preparing. Tomatoes are drying, wheatgrass is growing, wheat berries are soaking to make rejuvelec. Crackers will go in to the dehydrator next
First day had a massive headache, probably due to coffee withdrawals. Day 2 rested. Today feeling good and want to get into preparing raw meals and researching new recipes.
Today was okay, though in making cupcakes for tomorrow (raw) I ended up eating two and just wasn't hungry for dinner. Not my best day in terms of eating b/c I snacked too much. I'm sure tomorrow will be the same with all the Superbowl food and having people over. My goal is just to stay raw. =)
Breakfast: Berry smoothie (@ Renee - made with Rejuvelac! I liked it, my husband is not a fan - but he doesn't like anything fermented like that so forget him, lol) - blueberries, almonds, coconut butter, cinnamon, matcha
Snack: Pineapple & kale smoothie - pineapple, kale, flax; plus small handful of pistachios
Lunch: Tomato soup - tomato, garlic, ginger, avocado
Snack, snack, snack: Two raw mini cupcakes with raw vanilla frosting (these are seriously YUM, but fill-ing), a couple of raw cheeze-its (had to taste!), some caraway flax cracker (from RFFE - such a tasty and simple recipe) with Grezzo cheese (my newest addiction)
My brain is trying to talk me into eating a kale salad, but my stomach is just too full from the snacks...
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend - and the Superbowl (go 49ers!). =)
Go Queeny!!!!! your menu sounds yummy!!!!! I love the Rejuvelac in Smoothies....actually my 11 yr old daughter said it was the best smoothie I'd ever made!!! The produce guy at WF said the berries will be in on Monday! I can't WAIT!!!!
Gimme a photo of your Grezzo cheese!!!!!!
Today started out well, but the Superbowl = lots of filling snacks...
Breakfast: Strawberry smoothie
Lunch: Bok Choy soup
Dinner: Raw sausage pizza
Snacks: See photos in next posts ... I definitely ate my year's worth of brownies.
Tomorrow = clean eating & exercise!!

Yesterday was a super busy day so I didn't get a chance to log in. I think this is everything from yesterday, but I may be forgetting... Definitely not the day I was planning (too many nuts), but at least now all the dessert, etc., is out of the fridge (thanks to my four daughters).
Breakfast: Fruit smoothie
Snack: Flax chips w/ grezzo cheese & handful of raw cheeze it's
Lunch: Large kale salad with "cheese" crunchies (leftover cheeze it's smashed up) & a raw cupcake
Snack: 2 raw brownies (these are really small, but I definitely shouldn't have indulged - I was super full for hours)
Dinner: 2 bananas
Snack: 1/4 cup walnuts
Day 6 for me I am in a different time zone. Feeling really great, no sense of food deprivation and why would I.
Carrot, beetroot, apple, celery and ginger juice diluted with young fresh coconut water.
Snack coconut banana, sesame seed flax seed crackers with raw nutella.
Not tuna salad with rosemary black pepper garlic crackers
Jicama salad with mango,basil dressing
Orange chocolate mousse tart.
I have 3 other people who joined me on day 3 and they are really enjoying the food. I prepared food for them for a previous 30 day fast and they are back more enthusiastic than ever.
They relate how they have never felt as good as when they are on this diet.
My wheat grass is growing very well and will me adding it to my green smoothies as soon as it is
ready. Not sure about my Rejuvelec.
Guys the pics look fantastic.
