Default Ingredients for Master Cleanse and why?

I tried to search but came up short. Anyone know why the specific ingredients in the MC are used? I brought some to work yesterday and got barraged with questions. I had only the "ït's to detox" answer. Im especially curious about the Cayenne pepper. What does that do for you?

"The tree syrup is a blend of maple and palm tree syrups designed to provide a balance of minerals and trace elements. The fresh lemon juice provides vitamin C and potassium, and helps to dissolve mucus and waste. The cayenne pepper adds a zing to the flavour, as well as a stimulatory heating effect, which speeds cleansing and elimination."

If you want a fasting buddy let me know. I stopped drinking coffee seven days ago (a major obstacle to fasting for me) so I think I'd like to do a fast soon. Take Care.

Interesting. I'm going to add a pinch of this to my lemon water drinks during my weekend fasts, along with some 'B' grade maple syrup too. I'll begin with a salt-water flush in the morning, which is supposed to flush out parasites, plaque etc. It'll only be two days, but I'll be doing it every single weekend. Does that sound good anyone?

It's great to hear this about cayenne...I've been having (all day yesterday, and that was ALL I had) lemon/ginger/cayenne hot water....and seem to want more today...on day 8 of my fast, it's good to know my body is probably trying to get rid of something!! Thanks for the info.!!
