    Default Dandelion root tea

    Hi

Does anyone have any experience with dandelion root tea? I usually brew decaf green tea but wanted to try something new. The box I bought said to take a break after 4-6 weeks of use. Is there ill side effects associated with it? Thanks

I drink several herbal detox "mix" teas every day. Yogi detox is good and also Tulsi cleanse. I know Yogi had dandelion in it but I don't care for just the dandelion tea straight up. I guess it's also a matter of why you chose dandelion tea.

Please bear in mind that 'dandelion tea' is not the same as dandelion root 'tea'/'coffee'

Dandelion leaf is a blood and kidney cleanser, and is highly diuretic in nature. It's bitterness can serve as a mild liver cleanser, too.

Dandelion root is a cholagogue (good for stimulating bile secretion, thus aiding detoxification of the liver and gallbladder).

One good reason one should take a break every now and then from drinking dandelion leaf tea because it is so diuretic it can potentially be demineralising to the body (even though it provides some mineral content).
