@ Choose2BWell - I will continue to rest, stretch and add some heat. Thank you! Also, thanks for the advice on the trampoline. I hadn't thought of that, what a great way to warm up and cool down. I really appreciate it. That was one of my issues, lack of adequate warm up he said. I do miss shoveling the driveway (used to live in MI), it was great exercise.
@ Gianni - Thank you. Yes, I picked it up while training. The last two/three weeks leading up to it, I would start to experience the pain around mile 9/9.5. The week of, it started at mile 5 so I was quite nervous I wouldn't be able to finish the race. I taped it up the morning of, and just went for it. Thankfully, I had trained for street running, but looking back, did not adequatly stretch and warm up. I also learned I am a heel striker, and would like to work on my stride. That's exciting you're thinking about trying for another one! I'm sure you can do it! I had a really great time with whole experience, especially while raw. :) I would like to continue with it.

2 husky girl, the heat and stretching works keep at it. today I rebounded for 35 min. Still very cold in VA. Get some!
Procrastination is the fear of success. People procrastinate because they are afraid of the success that they know will result if they move ahead now. Because success is heavy, carries a responsibility with it, it is much easier to procrastinate and live on the 'someday I'll' philosophy. Denis Waitley

@ 2 husky girl - a lot of runners heel strike. You should get a shoe that offers more cushioning for heel strikers. In hindsight, you probably shouldn't have run the race if you were experiencing pain like you were leading up to it. I know it's hard when you have been training for it and have paid the entry fee, but it's better to think about not getting injured.
Anyhow, don't be discouraged. You did a great job taking part in and finishing a half marathon even though you were carrying an injury. Let it rest, heal, and slowly get back into it when you are pain free.

Good evening, today it warmed up enough to ride 10 miles. A portion of the ride was dedicated to 15, 20,30 sec sprints. Good ride, get some.
2 husky girl take a look at the attachments. On the mobility WOD's link search for ankle stretches, I use it for my shoulder. The rest of the links address CORRECT running technique.

Hi! How is everybody doing?
This morning I took the dog for 1.3 mile walk (we jogged the last 750m of it).
In the evening, we walked 1 mile, jogged 3.1 miles, walked another mile to cool down. Also took a dip in the pool afterwards to cool off and relax.

Good evening, today was a little warmer than yesterday, so I rode 16 miles. Workout was good, maintained a decent pace throughout. At the 12.5 mi mark my feet got cold, so it was a little uncomfortable. Get Some!

@ Gianni - That's awesome you're doing a 5k this week!!! Can't wait to hear how it goes!

@Choose2BWell - That's some crazy weather you're having.
This evening I took the dog out for a brisk 2.5 mile walk.

WOW! Such crazy weather, Choose2BWell!
Best of luck on your 5k today Gianni! Let us know how it goes!
Tuesday I did a 45 minute Turbo Jam workout and a short mile walk yesterday. Looking forward to moving more in February!

Thanks for the well wishes, 2 husky girl. I'm heading out the door now. Should be an interesting race because it will be on a relatively narrow 1km (maybe 1.2km) track with maybe 100 runners. Certainly the better runners will lap me, but oh well. Anyhow, I'm looking to take 3-5 minutes off of my last 5k race I did in November.
Back later with the details.
Get some!
