Default Has anyone here done "Insanity" on raw?

Just wondering if any here has done the Insanity workout on 100% raw. I'm just looking for tips of what and when to eat to get the most out of this workout.

I'm thinking this would be a great experience because raw helps the body recover so quickly from strenuous exercise. Last time I was 100% raw, I went from being sedentary to running a marathon in about 1 year... yeah, I'm an all or nothing kind of girl :)

Monday, Oct 1st is my big day, going from SAD and sedentary to Raw Insanity! I'm certain this will be quite a shock to my body!

I don't know what "Insanity" is, but I would say that everything physically is easier on raw and nutrient dense food! Good luck!

Agreed! Last time I was 100% raw I went from being sedentary to running a marathon in 1 year :) I'm sure I can survive the Insanity workout, and I'll apply a lot of the strategies with recovery smoothies and whatnot that worked for me then.

What should be interesting is that I'm doing this program with my SAD eating 21 year old son. We'll see who gets the most out of this intense program!

    Thanks for the encouragement

I've done the p90x program which is similar while raw. I'm also a long distance runner and do power yoga. I haven't had any problems with endurance or energy levels while 100% or high raw other then having difficulty keeping my iron levels at a reasonable level, which luckily doesn't seem to affect my stamina much. I personally don't attempt to tailor my diet to my activity level although I probably should, I just eat when hungry. However, I've heard that chia seeds lend power and endurance to raw athletes and this is something I'm going to look into and start doing. You can google something like "raw foodists chia seeds workout" to find out more about it.

I'm planning on starting insanity too, but I'm only 90% raw right now. I just plan on eating enough to keep my engery up.

I did insanity raw. It was rough. Really hard for me to time meals with workouts along with working and children. I would get really burpy if I ate. Exhausted and faint if I didn't. It was one heck of a workout though. I need to start again. But I need to get my lung capacity back in order. I've been kettle bell training lately and prefer it by far. But it isn't giving me the insane results I want.

I felt that way doing Insanity when NOT 100% raw (though I was high raw, all vegan) - it's a seriously HARD work out!!! =) I think you just need to eat/drink more (raw or not) - especially fruit for that added energy boost required by that program.

I do Krav Maga which is a contact combat form of martial arts.. Its very high energy and intensity. I usually just drink a fresh juice while working out and then eat normal raw the rest of the time..

    We have Insanity.

I took my fit test this week and am planning to give it a go for 60 days with returning to raw.

When I completed my fit test I was crying. I haven't felt this physically horrible in years.

    Here's to feeling better!
    It's time to live.
