Chia seeds for breakfast (like oatmeal)
Hi Everyone,
I'm have a mainly ectomorphic body type and would like to eat healthy and gain weight. Today I've tried a chia seed breakfast and it was delicious.
1/2 cup of chia seeds
1 cup almond milk
1 cup water
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tsp of agave
Cut up fresh fruit
I have the seeds soak up before eating, creating a nice gelatin like texture. My concern is it possible to over eat these small delicious seeds? 1/2 cup of seeds has quite the amount of fat. Not that I'm concerned, just want to gain some weight on a healthy diet.
Cheers,

That does sound good, I often make chia chocolate pudding in a similar way by adding cacao.
Be careful of almond milk, all non organic almonds grown in USA must be coated in a cancer causing explosive chemical that used to be racing fuel for cars. They banned it as a fuel for being too dangerous and then passed a law requiring that all almonds from USA be sprayed with it "for our safety" (so the chemical company wouldn't lose sales). For that reason I quit almond milk in 2007 and have been using rice or coconut milk when I do buy premade "milk". Was this almond milk you bought at the store or made yourself? If it's store bought it isn't raw, just so you know.
Don't worry too much about fat content, I've often had probably 60% or more of my calories from fat at some times and I don't believe it to be unhealthy if it is healthy fat, which chia fat is.
Half a cup of chia all at once does sound like a lot, I think I normally make about half the recipe you posted but I also don't have it as a whole meal.
By the way, from experience trying everything I could, the only thing that's made me gain weight since changing my diet is doing weight lifting so if you want to gain weight, and also stay in good physical shape, I highly recommend it.

Genesis 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind:
and God saw that it was good. "The most sublime truth of all has never been stated or written or sung,
not because it is far away and can’t be reached but because it is so intimately close,
closer than anything that can be spoken." - Gangaji

There should be a chia tapioca pudding recipe around here that is very similar to yours. Delicious!

Yeah, my new obsession for breakfast lately has basically been that recipe with chopped up bananas and blueberries and nuts dropped into it. Love it!
I'm on a tight budget, so a lot of my recipes are basically dressng up cheap food like bananas.
I trudge the road of happy destiny in the sunlight of the spirit!
