    Default Spinach & oxalate

Hi I've been eating a lot of baby spinach lately, however have read that you should limit it because of the oxalate levels? does anyone know if that refers to cooked spinach or raw as well?
I find a lot of the stronger greens quite hard to stomach at the moment...

Hi , yes I do green smoothies but tend to use spinach. I find some of the other leaves quite bitter, but maybe I should give them another go !

Try adding more fruit to the smoothies if they are bitter. It's a good idea to rotate your greens as each of them have so much to give and contain different amounts of vitamins. Spinach has a very mild flavor, which is why I love it. Also try Kale!!!

    Hello,

I wants read that you could eat --- to detox oxalates from the body, as it act as oxalates antagonist.

I just do not remember what it is at this time.

If I have time this weekend, I will do some research and let you know.

Please eat as much spinach as you want and don't worry about it! I recommend mixing in varieties of kale, chard, and other leafy greens as well, eating just one thing you miss out on the abundant variety, beauty, and flavor of life. There is a well known song:

"I'm popeye the sailor man, I'm popeye the sailor man, I'm strong to the finish 'cause I eat my spinach, I'm popeye the sailor man."

    Thanks Rawdad, Renee and PEachyLove,
I've tried to do a bit more research and the things I have read seems to indicate its not a problem on the raw food..and thinking about it I was stuffing myself with bread and pasta and other rubbish and I am worried about eating green leaves lol !!!
I will start to rotate more, Its just when starting out I find the greens a bit bitter, but my tastes are gradually changing if I can drink wheatgrass it must be a start !!! My love of Kale just needs cultivating a little !

I eat some spinach but my kidneys are sensitive to it, so I really focus on a variety of lettuce instead.
