Gourmet Nut-Free December!!! Featuring LOLF and RFFE!!!
Hi Raw Family!!!!
For the Month of December, I will be making yummy RAW dishes featuring Alissa's FABULOUS books, Living on Live Food and Raw Food For Everyone!!!
I started today with fruit taken from my co-op share!!! I'm planning to have a Greek Salad for dinner (RFFE), so my first nutless recipe is the Breadsticks to go with that later. I made them early this morning, so hopefully they will be ready by tonight.
-
I am really looking forward to seeing what you make. Those bread sticks look good already but when they are done could you take a snap of one broken in half so we can see the internal texture.
-
Absolutely!!! :-)
I wanted to make something with my Thai Coconuts, and I wanted something I hadn't tried before, so I decided to make the Thai Coconut Soup in LOLF, page 363.

I didn't expect to get full off of this, but I TOTALLY did!!! It's kinda like a Smoothie in a bowl, so I added Pineapple chunks to mine! SOOOOOO good! I love the Cumin in it! She's right when she says, "Lightly exotic and oh, so simple!!!!!"
-
Your posts are great Renee! I look forward to seeing what all you're making ~
-
cumin and pineapple - yummy!!
i can't wait to see about those breadsticks too - an inside shot is a great idea!

Day 2: NUTLESS RECIPES!!!
Thx DebB and Appifanie!!! So glad you'll be along with me this month!!!!
After a long long workday, I have a minute to post photos!!!
I REALLY LOVE the Breadstick with the Salad!!! I even added it to my Raw Detox Box Menu for this week!!! I was out if radishes, but the Zucchini looked pretty, I just cut it thin...

I made a list of everything I'm gonna make!!!! It's gonna be a YUMMY month!!!! :-D

Looks really good. I generally use hemp sprinkles. I get organic, shelled hemp. It's so good :)
-
Still eating off of my bounty of fruit from co-op...

Renee, those breadsticks look yummy. What ingredient are you using instead of flour?

I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.

Sorry about that!!!! I thought I was hitting reply with quote and hit the edit button!!!!
I wanted to say, It's Alissa's recipe in RFFE. It uses Buckwheat, Flax, seasonings and Hemp oil. They are FANTASTIC!!! I just had another Greek Salad!!! So good!!! Gotta finish this fruit, too. I feel like making a pie or something, so I'm gonna look at the list I made...

I know some people don't like flax and recently I found a recipe that uses oat flour/meal instead of flax if you want and since I had raw oats I made oat flour in my bullet and used that. It was really good.

You know that cashews, brazils, walnuts, almonds and pistachios are not, botanically, nuts. So are you including them or excluding them?
-
I expect there is an almond joy counterpart over here. Along with a similarly silly ditty :) Certain "nuts" not being nuts is a biological thing and maybe it's like a cow not being a sheep - both are m3@t - and if you go nut free then you don't eat those nut-posing seeds/drupes ;)
-
renee - never? that's amazing! i'm 35 and i've gotten them since I was 16 (that's the first one I remember, anyway).
