My 18month old is suffering from tooth decay on her top four teeth I don't know what to do or what I'm doing wrong. I'm guessing it's from all the fruit she eats or because I'm still nursing through the night. Maybe she doesn't get enough calcium or because she doesn't let me brush her teeth??? She doesn't eat any candy or drink any juice at all. I give her spinach or kale mixed with avocado every day. She doesn't really like smoothies, she'll take a few sips, but that's it. She has an appt with the dentist on Monday and I'm afraid of what they'll do. Has any one ever dealt with this before? I greatly appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks in advance!
Can you tell us what the dentist said. Is it tooth decay.
There is sufficient in the world for man's need, but not for his greed.
What sources of vitamins A and D are you incorporating in her diet..? (please don't just say 'sunlight')
Shazzie has discussed this issue in children with raw foodist parents.
Does your child only have your milk and raw vegan food such fruits or also candies or cookies???? I asked because i have seen parent giving oreo cookies to young child.
My daughter was on my milk and she had mainly fruits and even today years after, her teeth are perfectly healthy and no decay.
I would brush her teeth in the morning and before going to bed, never during the day. I would use a natural tooth past for children from the health food store.

-I know that small amount of green tea can be helpful in this situation. It reduced the occurance of cavities and builds strong teeth. It does have caffeine, but I give it to my son in low doses, its never effects him. I know in Japan ( I have Japanese married into my family) they will give green tea to young children, in small amount, pretty weak.
-Xylitol has been known to heal cavities and fill in holes in teeth.
-I would think rubbing ionic liquid silver on her teeth and gums would be beneficial. Shazzie has talked about this with her daughter, and using it as a mouth wash for herself to prevent and kill germs.
-I also know Stawberries are great for dental health! I've heard of hard core foodies brushing their teeth with strawberries.
I give green tea to my 3 year old as a special tea, as you would give a supplement. Also, 1/2 teaspoon of ionic silver daily. Going to start incorporating Xylitol in his diet for teeth. Xylitol is the sweetener in most natural toothpaste, because of its benefit to dental health.
I just think, most parents out there are giving their children soda and juice all day long! Green tea has many benefits... its worth a try. Also, try giving her the toothbrush after she eats with a little natural toothpaste (or other substance), in her high chair (if you use one) to chew on herself. Her chewing will clean her teeth a little. Then just take even a few seconds of brushing her teeth yourself, even if its a bit of a fight, because it will benefit her.
Hope this helps! What did you find out at the doc/dentist???
Not heard about the use of green tea for dental purposes, but I think I recall that it inhibits plaque from adhering to tooth enamel (possibly the polyphenol content, but my memory is a little hazy on this). Green tea certainly contains flouride, though, which might more convincingly explain some people's desire to use it for dental reasons.
Still, above all else, one needs to ensure sufficient levels of vitamins A and D, and ensure strict avoidance of excessive sugars (even fructose), since this leads to fluctuations in blood sugar leels and this can lead to a lowering of calcium and phosphorous levels in the blood, which can have a very profound impact upon dental health.
Also ensure good bowel flora, for a variety of related reasons, which I'm happy to explain, but which I'll refrain from doing so at this juncture.
