November Movement Thread
Welcome!
Whether you are 100% raw, vegan, or just starting out, being active will further improve your overall well being.
The intent of this thread is help inspire you to move; don't worry about what you can't do, but focus on what you can.
It doesn't matter if you walk a 1/4 mile, run 10 miles, P90X, Insanity; it's about getting out and making a difference in your life. By making the difference in your life you then will have a positive effect on those around you. If you are sitting in the sidelines, get on board No one will judge you, just get involved! Set the example, Enjoy the journey! GET SOME!
I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.

I LOVE the energy of this thread!!!!!! I've gotten back into my lazy place again with working out. It's just because my life is very busy. But, you have inspired and motivated me! so....I'm gonna move my fanny today!!!!!! Thanks Gianni!!!!!!
-
Me too Renee. Very lazy; spent the morning watching two men hauling logs. I would have been in there helping previously. Btw, I love the differences in language across the pond. Fanny is quite another anatomical part (female) over here!

Good for you Renee!
Last night I jogged 4 km. Planning on doing a 5K fun run a week from Sunday. It will be the first road race in about 20 years for me. Not looking to run it fast, just looking to finish it and to set a benchmark to improve on next year.

I do Krav Maga 3-4 times a week. Did a class tonight and it was really good! I also did a little circuit training this morning.. Some situps, pushup, scats, and rebounder. About 20 min. total..

I tell you what...after the upsetting results of the US Presidential election last night...I killed it at the gym!!! Had to work out all the anxiety of having a president that failed miserably in office for his first term now in office for another 4 years!!!

GoodCat - that Krav Maga sounds tough. It must whip you into shape.
Walnutty, that's it, take out your aggression.
Last night, the dog and me went for a long walk, then we jogged for about 2.5 miles. Was planning on doing just over 3 miles but my dog stopped on me, so we cut it short. Maybe it was best because I was starting to feel it in my knees.
Got my first road race in two decades coming up this Sunday so I will be taking it easy now leading up to it with just some walking until then.

5k road race was this morning. Ran it in just under 30 minutes. Not bad considering I couldn't run more than 400 meters 5 months ago before turning vegan.
Bring on the new year and faster times ahead. Get Some!

Went to my first cycling class yesterday! Man, that instructor kicked my butttt!!!!! I feel like my legs and rear are as hard as cement!!! Why do all stationary bikes have such hard seats!!! I know I should get up and move again today, but all I wanna do is lay here and ache the day away!!!! (Don't worry....I won't!). :-)
-
Ya ... bikes hurt my butt too :) I don't post much on this thread, but I basically do the same thing each week. I do a circuit in the mornings and then Krav Maga about 4 times a week at nights. What we do in class varies but its always a hard workout. I almost always have bruises on my arms or legs from it ..lol...
Keep it up guys :)

I finally started up p90x again after many many months of sitting in my butt. I am going to kick it into high gear and do this all the way through. Today was Chest and Back today, I am going to feel it tomorrow!!! I do love that sore feeling the next day though, it makes me feel like my efforts were worth something :)

Great job, everybody!
This morning took the dog out for about a 2½ mile walk.

I walked too much today and my left foot (ankle) is a little swollen and hurts. I have flat feet and bad knees, so I don't do a whole lot of walking far distances or running (although I do enjoy running).
I did soak it a bit and a friend gave me some Blue-Emu to rub on it. Hopefully that'll work.
-
Sorry to hear about your ankle, Renee. It's important not to push yourself too hard when you are just starting out again on an exercise regime. Take it easy and then build it up slowly to higher levels as you go along.
You might want to take a few days off from exercising to let your foot/ankle heal. Your stationary bike might be okay, but stop if you feel any pain.
I'm no expert on footwear, but there might be certain types of athletic shoes (or supports) that might cater to your type of feet. Ask around.
I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.

Thanks Gianni! That's exactly what I did! It still hurts on the side, but it's better. New shoes are in my future!!! :)
