    Default smell the variety

One of the things I am really enjoying about juicing apples is the smell that you get. Each variety of apple sends a slightly different smell pinging into the air when juiced. Sweet :)

Speaking of juicing apples, I watched a video yesterday where the lady takes the apple pulp (after juicing), dehydrates it and then powders it and calls it apple sugar! Hmm...

I agree - and a lot of work to boot...

I also agree about the wonderful smell of juicing apples!

pink lady is my fav eating apple. I haven't tried juicing them. Fuji are nice too. I have been juicing braeburn, gala and another one I can't remember the the name. There is an old English variety which has hints of pineapple. I would love to try juicing those but they are desperately expensive if you can even find them.

My ultimate educational vacation would be the apple museum in Geneva NY. So want to go there. Try some of the many thousands of real heirloom apples, not just the ones singled out for the market.

We have lost so many of our apple varieties here in the UK. I'm lucky to live in the West Country where cider is taken quite seriously so even though there are fewer apples in one way, there are lots just growing by themselves from seeds etc and a few specialists out there trying to save the old varieties. Juicing is so good for the varieties that have great flavour but less than perfect texture I think.
