    Default What are your thoughts on Alkaline & Acidic forming Foods

    Just before juicing someone mentioned Alkaline and Acidic forming foods. Has anyone looked into this and what are your thoughts ....

    I believe in it. Your body has to be in balance for it to function properly.
    I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.

    I believe it but your diet does not have to be all alkalising foods to be healthy. You are allowed to have some acid ones.

    I agree, however acid-forming foods like animal protein and addictive acid-forming foods like SAD breads, pastas, cakes, etc. are best avoided.

    The raw vegan diet is great because it is heavy in alkaline-forming foods: virtually all fresh fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens. Most grains and nuts are acid-forming, but like you said, you can eat some acid foods and be healthy as long as most of what you eat is alkaline-forming. Also note that almonds, quinoa, and millet are considered alkaline-forming foods.
