Default What do you do when you get cravings?

What do you do when you get those cravings for old SAD food? Which raw dishes do you find usable for these cravings to go away? Do these cravings completely get away after some time on raw food diet?

I always find tomatoes helpful. I think we each have our own helpful foods so whilst tomatoes work for me, they might not work for you.

There usually aren't the same foods for everyone. I found that usually my cravings were for savory or sweet and that as long as I'd eat from that category I was fine. Sometimes it may be more specific where not just anything will work such as wanting chips. If you can't dehydrate your own, you can buy them pre-made or flavor some nuts. Celery sticks with spices (and sometimes olive oil to dip them in) eventually became my own version of chips. Slices of cucumbers or zucchini with raw hummus is another good one. Banana ice cream or raw brownies are a great sweet treat. So just experiment with what works for you. You may find it simpler than it seems.

Maybe some raw gourmet food would help me or something dehydrated that's more dense. Personally I don't get any cravings anymore as long as I stay somewhat full, which is easy to do on a raw diet because it takes much less food to get that satiated feeling. High fat also helps me like avocados in my smoothies. Hope that helps!

A piece of really tasty fruit, or some salty nuts.
