    Default juicing seems quite inexpensive!

I know now that I have been fasting for 9 days that previously I was eating a whole ton of stuff and just how much I was spending on raw. I wasn't spending beyond my means but it's nice to have a bit of money to spend on me - outside of raw foods.

If you are fasting, i.e. eating less, maybe that's why you need less food. I found that juicing needs a lot more produce to make a glass of juice vs eating it or a smoothie, and it adds up quickly.

Obviously the days I was on water only were lovely and cheap ;)
Since I have been juicing though I am still spending less than half what I was on solid raw or solid sad. I don't think I am eating that much less although I am certainly not eating as much if you see what I mean. The thing I think that makes it cheaper is that Whilst I don't eat much carrot in solid form it is nice juiced and is cheap. I don't eat much apple in solid form but it is nice juiced and both these things are cheap.

When I eat solid raw then I can buy 3x punnets raspberries a day - not cheap. It's interesting to me because I was expecting the juicing to much more of a finacial drain.

Are you only drinking juice? I guess I'm confused - e.g how many carrots does it take you to make 1 glass? And I hope you are using the pulp somehow.

I am only juicing. The pulp is not being used except when I juice at home - then the hens get to eat it. They won't eat it if I take it home to them in a bag; they don't like it oxidised. My juice this morning took about 4 large carrots, 2 kiwi, 3 small apples, 1 lemon and 1 orange. It made about 12 floz

I normally use oranges, apples, and carrots as my staples while juicing. They are relatively inexpensive. However, it depends on what you juice. If you juice organic fruits and vegetables or more exotic things like asparagus, it can add up.
I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.

about 50% of what I am juicing is organic at the moment. the citrus and the carrots are always organic for example. beetroot is expensive here but very cheap to grow. I juice homegrown where possible but the season is now at an end.

I have found juice fasting to be very inexpensive too Mystic. I save heaps of money when I fast.

And juicing asparagus is gross (just my opinion... wwwwwww)

When I juice I do a tomato juice for dinner and that's really the most expensive juice of my day. Toms can be expensive depending on the time of year.

Glad I'm not the only one :) I juice twice a day. Once in the morning and once at lunchtime. I juice about 10-16 oz each time and sip it slowly - except today I drank the lunchtime one faster coz I have discovered broccoli juice is magnificent. I'm gonna try to find a restaurant that will save broc stems for me :)

I find it kind of nice mixed with carrot juice. The asparagus here is imported from Peru and costs about 6 US Dollars per pack (10-12 stems) which I find expensive so I've only juiced it a couple of times. I do think it's quite nutritious though.

mystic let me know if you get "butt pee" from the broc if you choose to do more of it. it's one of those items that i'm 'watching' with others since it's horrid on my system. can't juice it (or anything in the cabbage family) or i get days of butt pee if i'm doing an extended fast.

It's funny how the raw diet can be the cheapest thing in the world or the most expensive. It all depends on how you spend your money!
