Default Its Thanks Giving up here in Canada and I didnt say no to meat due to family respect

So 1 week ago today I started this Raw Diet. Yesterday, I went to my dads for a family get together for thanks giving. I ended up diving into the meal.

Well afterwards... Let me just briefly explain why I chose to go raw. I get anxiety and brain fog, throughout my first week on the raw diet, those symptoms were very minimal compared to prior to the diet.

So after dinner I sit down. My mind fogs right up, I lose my ability to function right (I basically feel like a vegitable). I just feel like complete crap. So when my brother finally dropped me off at home, I crash right into bed then wake up at 5 this morning feeling a little better. It is now 11 I just had a nice apple 20 mins ago and I am back to feeling great!

    Just thought I would share:)

Respect for yourself is as important if not more so. Then of course there is the respect that you could show us in not mention all these things - this is a raw, vegan forum.

That turkey dinner threw your body totally out of whack! I hope you've learned your lesson.

Next time try to restrict yourself to the vegetables and salads.

But really there are a lot of raw vegan alternatives to a typical Thanksgiving meal. It just involves a little research, getting the right equipment (food processor, blender, dehydrator, etc) and the right ingredients.

I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.

When I first started eating raw I would "cheat" when with family to not cause them trouble, but after a few months I realized it's not worth destroying my health to please them. Plus by not cheating for them they'll see how important it is and might get more interested and ask questions and even get into it themselves.

    Thank you all!

I still feel my belly trying to digest last nights meal, so I havnt been feeling all that 100% through the day. So I am just gonna let my self heal till I get rid of this turkey and pie which is where cabbage comes in handy ;)

In another week or two I will have a blender so I can make my self some smoothies, which I have faith will also help out with this whole recovery process all together. I am finding I still do get constipated when I eat raw so If I make my meals more fluid, I dont really forsee constipation being an issue.

If this doesn't make your mouth water, I don't know what will. Vegan desserts
