    Default Collard Wraps

I just discovered how yummy raw collard wraps are, but as usual my yummy recipe includes avocado. I'm having a hard time finding raw recipes that I love that don't include avocado which can get pretty high in calories over time. Does anyone have any great sauces, dips or recipes for lower calorie collard wraps (easy/quick prep please). Thanks!

Why can't you just leave it out if your sandwich? Better yet, why not include it? Avocado is such an asset to the raw diet. When you eat raw there is no need to count calories at all. Get Alissas book Living On Live Food. She explains that beautifully! :-)

I generally gain weight fast when eating raw (I have no issues with weight and stay thin eating regularly) so I am trying to cut back on calories and fat while eating raw so that I don't become overweight. I eat upwards of 6+ avocados a day (and this isn't my only source of calorie dense or high fat raw foods) when eating high or all raw. That in my opinion is too much. For me, not paying attention to calories or fat on this diet will wreck havoc on how my body looks if I don't get it under control.

As for leaving it out, the avocados were the base for the filling so I need to find another base recipe for a filling that's tastes edible to me. Avocados are what makes most of my meals taste good lol. I need a wrap with a tasty sauce, dip or dressing so that I don't notice the lack of avocado.

A base made from pureed soaked sundried tomatoes and fresh tomatoes might be good with fresh herbs and perhaps a tsp of olive oil to make it feel right in the mouth. If I think of anything else I will post again.

Blissrunner, What about eating more fruit through the day and less avocado, then you can eat the avo at night in your wraps? Or check out the gorilla sandwich, that could be made with less fat and more veggies.
