Default Can you take legal action against a doctor if...

I've posted before that I know someone that has a friend that's a doctor who prescribed him cholesterol lowering medications.

Since the end of 2011 there have been more than 900 studies proving it's more dangerous than no treatment at all and that people taking it die younger than those with the same health condition but taking a placebo.

Of course he think's I'm a complete idiot for believing 900 independent studies while he thinks it's brilliant blindly trusting the marketing of a company trying to sell you something, especially when they've been caught in frauds over and over, and over 900 studies prove it's exactly what they're doing again.

I am writing him a letter with references to some of the 900 studies as well as a study of the 900 studies.

However, if he keeps his head in the sand I would like to know if I can take legal action against his friend doctor since there are over 900 scientific studies proving he is guilty of medical quackery and likely more since we know the drug will likely kill him if he continues.

However I know that doctors, like the police, are protected against the most atrocious crimes, they can literally get away with murder over and over. So would I have any hope in taking legal action against his doctor friend and what sort of charges would this qualify for?

I realize it's sad because his doctor is as much a victim as he is and it's not his doctor's intention to destroy his health, but if his doctor is really gullible enough to blindly trust the marketing of a company and not even be bothered to look if it's proven he has no business being a doctor.

If anyone know what if any legal action I can take in this situation I would like to know, of course I hope it won't come to this and that he'll wake up without this being necessary, but I would be willing to go this far to save his health and life.

By the way, can I sue his doctor even though I'm not the victim (the victim is too gullible to realize they are a victim)?

    Thank you

I think, unless the doctor has been negligent, you can't take legal action against him for prescribing medicines which are legal to prescribe. Any legal action would have to be taken against the pharma company but ask a lawyer.

Isn't ignoring 900 studies proving the dangers of the drug and blindly trusting the drug company's marketing as if they'd never lie to sell their product being negligent?

In any case I have a slight hope cholesterol drugs might get banned entirely with over 900 studies proving they cause severe and fatal side effects and with the fact the Lipitor patent expired almost a year ago so they have lost a lot of power. On the other hand drugs like Avandia that kill 35,000 people a year when properly prescribed and taken remain perfectly legal.

Anyway with over 900 studies proving my point I think he'll have no choice but to realize it's true or look like a complete fool. It's strange as literally everyone else I talk to about this either to my surprise already know, or if they didn't know they research it and see it's true.

Another thing that might be getting him to see the light is that he's had eczema for years and tried every drug and drug cream there is and still has the problem (surprise surprise). My dad recently started having the same problem, he quit dairy and gluten after realizing it happened when he ate those (which are 2 major known causes of eczema) and within days it went away and hasn't returned.

Anyway I don't know if I'd really try to sue his doctor but wanted to know if it's a possibility, hopefully he will wake up before I start seriously considering that.

    Thanks

I don't think it is. It would be negligent of many others to ignore 900 studies (possibly, depending on the studies). The doctors are at the end of the line and prescribe what those whose jobs it is to test drugs for safety tell the is ok to prescribe. Like I said, ask a lawyer.

Treat your friend to a copy of the following book(s). I purchased a copy of the water book at a Goodwill store and it is the best book purchase I have ever made. It opened my eyes even more than they were, to the damages pharmaceuticals do. (Also some parts of The Second Brain would be helpful to read.) I don't think you'd get anywhere with trying to take legal action against doctors. Your time would be better served helping your friend see the light.
My mother is on her death bed from pharmaceuticals being prescribed for things that proper hydration would have fixed. She is suffering Multiple System Atrophy. Either book ( I believe) should explain how drugs set the wheels in motion for such systems failure. I started having the same symptoms that took my grandparents lives, my fathers life, and soon my mom. Cutting out Wheat changed my course as well, and finding RFT furthered my progress back from the miserable state of health I was in.

In his book he discusses cases of lowering cholesterol through increased water intake and exercise. He points to many diseases in fact, that can be corrected and healed with proper hydration and takes you through the physical process that shows how dehydration leads to the various health issues.

If you're in the U.S. you can just about sue anybody for anything. Someone sued ~ and won ~ because they spilled their own coffee and claimed it was too hot.

Question is, will a lawyer take the case? Not if they don't think they can win. As MT says, ask a lawyer.

Rev, this is why I say ask a lawyer rather than a group of healthy eating people :)

You would have to prove that your friend was damaged somehow. Did he die or something?
