Thanks Krista! I'm doing my best, my grandma said to me the other day 'You're going to live to be 100 easily aren't you?' I've been talking to all of my family about healthy eating and all of them have been eating more fruits and veggies than usual since I've been here. Even my grandpa who orders a cheeseburger everytime he goes out to eat anywhere (even at a Chinese restaurant lol) ordered soup and salad at dinner the other night. My dad at half of a 2 lb. fruit tray the other night. My mom let me make her gluten free pasta with chopped veggies that I threw in raw and let the pasta warm them a little without cooking them. Baby steps but all in the right direction! What little sacrifices I'm making right now personally are worth it to help show them that there is a better way and that you don't have to feel deprived or not enjoy what you eat to be healthy.

With that being said I started today with a strawberry banana green smoothie! 1 punnet of strawberries, 2 bananas, and a bag of spinach. :)

After reading your breakfast smoothie recipe I'm kickin myself for not bring my raw cacao powder on this trip! hehe

Georgina- I think it's amazing you are so in tune with your body! The sign of true self love is when you can listen to your bodies needs without the mind interfering and talking you out of what you truly need. I'm sure you are going to feel wonderful after giving your a body a lovely cleansing bath from the inside out! :)
Sending love and light to everyone, everywhere, always! :)

Jessica, I think one of the most wonderful things on earth is when you see that your healthy example opens the minds of those you love!

Rob, I've got ingredients ready to go for things like Pesto Stuffed Mushrooms, Stuffed Portobellas, a variety of things to scoop with my flax crackers, from salsa and guacamole to mock salmon pate, and one of my all time favorites, Cucumber sandwiches, based on the popular appetizer, I cut my pizza bread in to little squares, put some dill "cream cheese" and a slice of cucumber, sprinkle with a little dried dill, I feel like I'm at a party, and they're so delicious!

Your pizza bread hors d'oeuvres sound divine! so simple too

I have to admit that I am a little lazy when I source my my raw goodies. My grocery store sells frankly overpriced raw superfood cereal (just add homemade nut mylk). They also have brad's raw chips. I can get Turkish figs there. I used to buy some raw treats from nuts.com. I also snack on dates and nuts. Sometimes, I make the raw brownies too.

I do not eat a lot of this stuff, but some times I get tired of my "normal" raw fair (especially at night) and I just want something special or different. I just reach for one of these and I'm good to go. It helps that they aren't cheap. That way, I don't eat much.

I am going to try your pizza bites. I think the stuff you mentioned is in Allissa's book, Living on Live Food. I'll check it out when I go home. I'm sure I could wing it too, if needed, though. :)

    Thanks!

Indeed, the majority of my meals are from that book. No need to reinvent the wheel, Alissa's stuff is so simple and so tasty!

    Default How's it going?

How's everyone been doing? I'd like to suggest that you check in here from time to time, just drop us a line every few days. I want you to remember that we're here for each other! In the beginning, when we're in the honeymoon stage, we feel strong, and we don't anticipate the tough times that are certainly in store for us. I think it's good that we remember we're here, and posting, so that when a hiccup comes along, we can support and encourage each other.

Six months can be a long time if you're alone. Also please remember that a slip up does not make a drop out. If you've committed to six months, and you have a day that you just lose it, you're still part of the group! That's exactly what we're here for, to keep supporting each other and finish strong together.

I'm doing well. It's the very early hours of day 4. Still water fasting. Contented.

1am this morning. Water fasting increases the need to pee and is making me sleep much more lightly anyway. So once I am awake, I'm awake!

    Default One week Check In

So, we've got one week finished, how's every one doing?

Personally, I've managed to stay 100% raw, with one small exception, having gone out to eat yesterday, I had a dressing on my salad that I know wasn't raw... it had peanut butter and a little brown sugar in it. At least it had no dairy in it.

Other than that, I've been doing well, keeping up with my exercise, and I've managed to lose 7.5 lbs in the past week

I've started having some really strange dreams, but no other obvious detox symptoms.

    How are you doing?

100% raw. Water fasted the first 4 days. Juice fasted the remaining 3.
Starting this week still juicing. Lost 15lbs. Clothes oodles looser. Feeling great. Ready for another week :)
