Default What do people do with pulp from coconut/almond milk?

What do people who make their own almond/coconut milk do with the pulp from it? We make batches probably twice a week and have no idea what to do with so much pulp. I mean, I don't eat that much granola!

So, I've got some almond pulp, but what I haven't got is a dehydrator. And that's the problem, it seems. Does anyone know of some recipes that uses almond pulp, but no dehydrator? That would be fab!

I throw it in my compost pile - freeze it in plastic bags until bag gets full and then throw it all into compost pile (minus the plastic bag).

Okay, garlic bread sounds like a lot of fun, so I watched the video and then moved on to the macadamia cheese one as well. Hanalei, thank you for this question because I am so inspired at the moment.

    Walnutty,

The recipe only uses almond meal, not coconut meal. It uses the meat of a young coconut.
Don't mean to correct you or anything....because it's still a great recipe that at least uses the almond meal.

    Thanks,

Macaroons. If you don't have a dehydrator, you can just let them sit in a room overnight. Or better still put in a warm oven , that's off and let sit overnight.

What a dehydrator does though is make the outside crisp and the inside still a little soft...Great texture when fresh out of the dehydrator.

I've also made a flat bread with both. Our house is being remodeled and the recipe is locked up in storage. sorry I didn't have it on my computer...But I just found an almond bread recipe and just threw in some coconut pulp too. It was great.

I just leave the almond pulp in and eat/drink it with whatever I am having the almond milk with.

I am too lazy to deal with straining out something I am going to eat anyways.

We made our own almond milk this last week with our amazing new juicer and dried the pulp and used it as flower for raw pizza. :)

With almonds, I add spices and hot pepper to make a nut based hummus.

    Strangeland, I like your attitude!

Fifistorm, that's just what the OP was looking for I'll bet ---and using up that extra almond pulp from making almond milk your way doesn't require a dehydrator either. Good call!

Which makes me think of more: mixing your leftover almond pulp with taco seasoning, then making a taco using lettuce or kale etc as the tortilla.

Or combining with cauliflower that's been run through a food processor, and even adding cashews too to dry everything up----to make a "rice" for nori rolls.....
